‘Dance Moms’ Chloe Lukasiak Reveals Abby Created Fake Drama?
Was any of the drama on Dance Moms real? Or was it all manufactured for the sake of good television? Those are questions that viewers have wondered over the years. Now, it seems like some truth will come out on the Dance Moms 10-year reunion special coming up in May. Chloe Lukasiak gives fans a peek behind the curtains and lets fans know what it was really like to work with Abby Lee Miller in the rehearsal room.
Many of the former Dance Moms child stars have completely severed ties with Abby Lee Miller and it’s not hard to see why. Read on and see what Chloe had to say about the scripted drama.
Chloe Lukasiak Feels That The Adults Pitted Her Against Maddie Ziegler
In interviews leading up to the big premiere date on May 1, Chloe Lukasiak has been speaking up about her experience on the Lifetime reality show.
Recently, she admitted she probably needs therapy after reliving many traumatic moments during the reunion special.
“I am so grateful that I experienced the show exactly as I did because it’s made me into who I am,” Chloe told Page Six‘s Virtual Reali-Tea Podcast. During the interview, Chloe dove into her onscreen rivalry with her Dance Moms costar, Maddie Ziegler.
On the show, dance teacher Abby Lee Miller always favored Maddie while routinely putting Chloe and the other girls down. In a preview for the reunion special trailer, Chloe even begins to cry and explains that she always felt like she was inferior.
But after having time away from Miller and the show, Chloe Lukasiak has reflected. She now believes a lot of the drama was fake. It’s entirely possible Miller and the Dance Moms executives deliberately pitted the girls against each other for entertainment.
“Even though it was manufactured — and I really dive into this on the reunion — and even though I believe it was unnecessary because I believe natural competition blooms at dance competitions, that is kinda the whole point of them, it was nice to kind of always be on the edge of my seat,” Chloe told the podcast hosts.
The Former Dance Moms Star Took Away Important Lessons Too
Chloe Lukasiak is ready to put Dance Moms behind her. But she admits she left the show with very important life lessons as well.
“One thing I’m really grateful for having experienced what I experienced on the show is I feel really empathetic toward other people,” the 22-year-old continued. “I’m always really aware of their emotions and how they’re feeling and just checking in on people [and] being very observant of the world around me so that’s one thing I feel I really took away from the show.”
