CBS is currently in the process of developing and pitching a Melrose Place revival to various networks and streaming services. The original series followed the lives (and love lives) of people living in an apartment complex called Melrose Place. It ran from 1992 until 1999. The cast included Locklear, Leighton, Jack Wagner, Andrew Shue, Thomas Calabro, Grant Show, Doug Savant, Courtney Thorne-Smith, and Rob Estes. There were also appearances from Alyssa Milano and Kelly Rutherford, along with other iconic actors. During its time on television, Melrose Place received five Golden Globe nominations.

CBS’ revival will follow some of the original cast members who have reunited after a mutual friend dies. A series summary revealed, “The pressure cooker of a reunion soon uncovers old traumas, rekindles old romances, reignites old resentments, and reveals new secrets… throwing our characters into chaotic drama that’s reminiscent of the past, but with a much more modern perspective.”

Will Jack Wagner Return To Melrose Place?

Jack Wagner spoke with People about reprising the role of Dr. Peter Burns on Melrose PlaceIn the original series finale, Peter and Amanda, played by Heather Locklear, got married and set out to live on a beach “happily ever after.” When asked about the possibility of returning to his role in the soap opera, Wagner seemed enthusiastic.

“You never really die on a soap, right?” Wagner said. “How they unfold those two characters [Peter and Amanda], it’d be fantastic how they sort of tell that story. That was a great finale to be included in, especially with Heather. If I’m asked to come back, I’d absolutely entertain that.”

Wagner said that he doesn’t keep up with his former castmates from the late 90s show. However, he compared running into them to running into old high school friends. There’s no love lost between them.

Earlier this week, Lisa Rinna, who played the role of Taylor McBride on the show, spoke about potentially returning to Melrose Place as well.

“Well, gosh, I’ve heard about it,” Rinna told People. “I haven’t been approached or anything, but I would love to see what Taylor McBride is up to 25 years later. Wouldn’t that be something?”

You can stream all seven seasons of Melrose Place on Prime Video.
