Why Isn’t A New Episode Of Mama June On Tonight?

Mama June: Family Crisis has been a staple of WeTV Fridays nights and this season was expected to be heartwrenching. It was to follow Anna Cardwell’s battle with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma and how her family was by her side through all of it. June even noted that her wishes would be shown in the series. So far, Anna Cardwell has been in chemo while June and her husband, Justin Stroud realized they needed to move back to Georgia. Furthermore, June and Pumpkin wanted Anna to start making arrangements for her two daughters, Kylee and Kaitlyn.

Unfortunately, she was not ready to deal with that just yet. She did get married to her longtime boyfriend, Eldridge Toney, and was walked down the aisle by her father. Alana ‘Honey Boo’ Thompson graduated high school but had to decide if she was going to Colorado or not. She was worried about Anna plus her boyfriend, Dralin Carswell had gotten into trouble so it was unclear if he could leave the state. He was cleared to go and they decided to head out but Alana needed more than just her scholarship. That was when she learned June had stolen a large chunk of money from her.

This caused a huge rift between the two of them and Justin could not believe how Mama June just kept lying. So, when will viewers get to see how the rest of Anna’s story plays out and if this family can be mended? Friday, April 12th was the midseason finale so it will not be back until June. Mama June shared this in a Facebook group:

“OK, I’m only posting because a lot of people have been reaching out to us or across social media. There will be no episode of mama June family crisis this week on we TV. It will come back in June and when we are able to tell you the date I will let you know, but if you have missed any of this season start with season six episode 11 through episode 20 when the season starts up in June it will start off at season six episode 21 through 26. It’s going to be a very emotional one to say the least so your cleaning is ready.”

In Its Place

Taking over the place of Family Crisis for the time being will be Love During Lockup. It is the precursor to Love After Lockup. So, viewers will get to see the relationships evolve with one person still behind bars. If they succeed throughout the season, they may make it to the next show. Or, they might return for the next season of Love During Lockup. This season is different as it has its first same-sex couple. That will last until June and then Mama June will be back.
