Christina Applegate Latest Star To Turn Down ‘Real Housewives’ Offer

Christina Applegate is the latest star to have turned down a Real Housewives offer. Previously, The Masked Singer judge Jenny McCarthy shared she was asked to be on RHONY. Now, Applegate is opening up about the opportunity she declined. Keep reading for more details.

Christina Applegate Latest Star To Turn Down Real Housewives Offer

Housewives have come and gone from the different franchises and many have even become household names. The shows have amassed a huge celebrity following and many will come on WWHL with Andy Cohen. Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence is obsessed with her Bravo shows, even noting she lives for Vanderpump Rules. When it came out that Robyn Dixon was not coming back to Potomac, Christina Applegate sent a tweet to Cohen. She shared that Dixon was her favorite housewife of all the franchises and Cohen needed to call her despite not having her number. Yet, as it turns out, he just might.

The Married…With Children star was actually asked to be on RHOBH about a decade ago. According to Page Six, she shared this information on the podcast she co-hosts with Jamie-Lynn Sigler called MeSsy. Applegate received an offer but declined it just as Jenny McCarthy did to RHONY. For McCarthy, she did not want to fight but what was Applegate’s reasoning? The Dead to Me actress went on to explain this:

“And what’s funny is I ended up becoming really good friends with the executive producer of it because our kids went to school together. And he’s like, ‘Oh, yeah, we asked you.’ I said, ‘Chris, now that you know me, would I have been a fun “Housewife”?’ He’s like, ‘No, it would’ve been the most boring s–t I’ve ever seen in my life.’”

It seems both ladies knew that they were not what the audience would have wanted to see. Christina Applegate also added that she is very antisocial so she would never have been at any of the events.

“I wouldn’t have shown up to any dinners. I would’ve been in my sweatpants, and I’d be lying in bed. What fun is that? No, none of that. No, no. I would be the worst ‘Housewife’ anyway.”

Still A Fan

Christina Applegate may not have joined the Bravo show but she is still a fan. She admits that she loves The Traitors which airs on Peacock as well as RHONY. Plus, she is, as aforementioned, a huge RHOP fan who loves Robyn Dixon. So, she clearly knows what works on Bravo and saw that she would have failed on RHOBH. Keep in mind, Beverly Hills has had actresses such as Denise Richards, Lisa Rinna, Eileen Davidson, and Garcelle Beauvais so Christina may have been a fun addition. Even if she did the whole show in her sweatpants.
