‘DWTS’ Cheryl Burke Fell In Love With Three Dance Partners
It appears the former Dancing With The Stars pro Cheryl Burke has a lengthy romantic history while competing on the show.
Although Cheryl Burke tearfully said goodbye to the show at the end of Season 31, she’s still pretty active in the dance world. She even hosts a podcast, “Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans,” where she discusses all the behind-the-scenes drama on DWTS.
But during a guest appearance on another podcast, Cheryl revealed she and a few of her dance partners had a romantic connection off camera. Keep reading to see what she had to say.
Cheryl Burke Had Blossoming Romances With Multiple Dance Partners
Finding love in the ballroom isn’t all that uncommon. Pro dancer Kym Johnson married her celebrity partner, entrepreneur Robert Herjavec, as did dancer Artem Chigvintsev with WWE star Nikki Bella. Pro dancer Britt Stewart is currently engaged to her Season 31 partner, actor Daniel Durant.
So naturally, it makes sense that Cheryl Burke made a few romantic connections during her 26 seasons on Dancing With The Stars.
However, she wasn’t willing to get into specifics. The 39-year-old dancer appeared on the Amy & T.J. podcast recently and discussed love on the dance floor.
Since couples competing on DWTS spend so much time together, it makes sense that bonds form. And sometimes, the relationships turn romantic.
“It happens,” Cheryl shared on the podcasts. “It is [love] in that moment, and then you’re like, wait a second. How is the person in the real world? Then all of a sudden the roles change. It’s a weird control thing.”

She went on to say that although she made three romantic connections on the show, none of them lasted outside DWTS. Cheryl did admit that her Season 10 partner, Chad Ochocinco Johnson, was one of the men in question. They appeared together on The Ellen Degeneres Show where he kissed her and displayed an expensive ring he bought for her. However, Cheryl denies they ever got engaged.
She would not name the other two men.
Who Could The Other Suitors Possibly Be?
Out of 26 partners, it’s really difficult to speculate who the other two men might have been. Cheryl Burke and her Season 29 partner, Backstreet Boy AJ McLean, were incredibly close. They bonded over their struggles with addiction and even went to host a podcast together.
However, both were married during Season 29. Cheryl and Boy Meets World actor Matthew Lawrence were married from 2019-2022. AJ McLean was married to his wife from 2011-2024.
