‘1000-Lb Sisters’ Which Bariatric Procedures Did The Siblings Get?
1000-Lb Sisters initially followed Amy Halterman and Tammy Slaton as they strived to meet weight loss goals and qualify for bariatric surgery. As the series continued, their three siblings, Chris, Misty, and Amanda, all joined the show with their own sets of goals.
As of the most recent season, all five siblings have undergone bariatric surgery.

1000-Lb Sisters Fans Are Curious About Their Medical Procedures
As with various other TLC medical shows, 1000-Lb Sisters followed the five siblings as they underwent bariatric surgery. But what kind of surgery did they actually receive?
That’s a question other fans would like to know as well.
“Which bariatric surgery did they get?” a curious Redditor asked online. “Do you know which surgery they got? I can’t find much info anywhere.”
Another Reddit user readily had an answer.
“Amanda – sleeve
Chris – sleeve
Amy – bypass
Misty – Duodenal switch
Tammy – Duodenal switch
This info has been confirmed by Procter and Smith,” the Reddit user replied.

Although the information was helpful, other Redditors wondered why the procedure didn’t seem to be working for Amy Halterman.
“How has Amy gotten a full bypass and it’s not really worked for her? Was it pregnancy after pregnancy? My Mom got a full bypass in 2002 and got pregnant 2 years later and still continued to lose weight for 10 years before it reversed,” someone asked.
Others replied that Amy’s diet likely had a lot to do with it, as well as the compounded stress from the pregnancies and her divorce. Some Reddit users pointed out that sometimes the patient can stretch their stomach back out if they don’t follow her doctor’s orders, which Amy hasn’t.
Will There Be New Episodes Anytime Soon?
Although TLC hasn’t said much about another season of 1000-Lb Sisters, it remains one of their most popular series. Thus, it stands to reason the network would want to put out more seasons.
Tammy Slaton is still incredibly active on TikTok and loves keeping in touch with her followers. Meanwhile, Chris Combs manages to make significant progress. Recently, he ran a 5K for the first time. Fans would love to see him qualify for skin removal, which would be excellent content for another season of 1000-Lb Sisters.
At this point, the sky is the limit for the siblings and fans are excited to see where they go from here.
