Michael Strahan’s Daughter First Shared Her Diagnosis On GMA
Michael Strahan’s daughter first revealed her brain cancer diagnosis on Good Morning America in January. She sat next to her dad while they talked with Robin Roberts about the devastating diagnosis.
Despite having brain cancer, Isabella Strahan has been able to maintain a positive outlook. She often shares details of her day-to-day life on her vlog and, typically, she’s happy.
However, her most recent update came with a few tears. On Friday, she shared a vlog that detailed more of her battle against medulloblastoma.
Ups & Downs In Isabella Strahan’s Battle
The 19-year-old influencer shared that she had to go to the hospital because she was running a fever. While there, she ended up having to get an IV placed. She said that she “started hysterically crying” because she hadn’t needed an IV put in for a long time.
After the hospital performed various scans, Isabella Strahan wound up having to have a procedure done. The doctors had to stick a needle in three different locations in the back of her head in order to drain fluid.
In the vlog, she said that she had the procedure done before, but this would be the first time she was conscious during it.
There was a quick time-lapse in the video and Strahan said, “Surprise!” She revealed that she had to undergo a third craniotomy. Her second was only last month, and she shared that it was pretty painful.
“It’s not as bad as the first time, but I’m really in pain,” Isabella Strahan said. “They do give me pain medicine[…], but they don’t work that well on me.”
Breaking down in tears, she shared with viewers how much pain she was really in. “Not gonna lie, I’ve been crying a lot,” she said in the vlog after revealing that she was missing out on a Nicki Minaj concert being in the hospital.
Michael Strahan’s daughter also said that her appetite has been declining recently. She admitted that she had not eaten a lot over the last few days, despite eating “so much” the week before.
After recovering in the hospital, she was released only to return two days later due to shortness of breath. Due to surgery and other problems she is having, her chemotherapy had to be pushed back by one month.
“I was bawling my eyes out because it was so disappointing when you’re like, ‘Yes, I can finish by May,’ and then everything changes,” she said.
Fans are continuing to root for her though. People from all around the world are cheering for Isabella Strahan as she battles brain cancer. In the comment section of her YouTube video, individuals showed an outpouring of love and support.
“Broke my heart to see her cry god please do a miracle and take this disease away. She’s so young and full of life. I will continue praying for you day and night,” one follower wrote. Another chimed in, “Dear God, please heal this beautiful young lady. Take away all her pain.”
