Ashley Iaconetti Calls BS On Gerry Turner Divorce
Ashley Iaconetti seems to think that it wasn’t really distance that caused Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist to opt for a divorce just three months after getting married. She went to Instagram Stories to share her thoughts on The Golden Bachelor’s shocking announcement.
Ashley said, “I think a lot of the Good Morning America interview was BS because you don’t say, ‘We’re still in love with each other,’ and then get divorced. You just don’t. If it’s a distance thing — at their age especially — live in Indiana, live in New Jersey, visit each other once or twice a month … Be in love, be married but, like, you know, commute to each other. I don’t buy [it]. I don’t buy that the moving thing is the reason they got divorced three months in.”
She didn’t stop there. She also said that after she attended the Golden Wedding she refused to appear on a podcast and talk about it. Ashley refused to go on the podcast because she revealed feeling nothing when she was at the wedding.
Gerry And Theresa’s Divorce Announcement
Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist made the heartbreaking announcement that they are divorcing. They said they had numerous heart-to-heart talks about their relationship. They revealed that at the center of those talks was their family. Both love their families too much to leave them.
News broke last week that they were living apart, her in New Jersey and him in Indiana. They both say they still love one another but they don’t want to commute. At their age, they want someone there all the time. However, neither of them wanted each other enough to make the big move away from their families.
Ashley Iaconetti thinks there is more to the story. There have been lots of questions and rumors floating around about why they really split and if there are factors they have not shared with the public.

I believed even at the end of the show that marriage was rushed because they got caught up in excitement and glamor; and the fans rooting for a wedding.PLUS, the big, expensive honeymoon that the network paid for and the televised wedding. I’d bet they received tons of wedding gifts from their fans that got caught up in the fantasy of the show. If they had decided to date and see how things progressed, they wouldn’t have to now be getting a divorce. But look what they would have missed out on financially and wouldn’t still be in the limelight. A divorce will continue to keep people talking about them for a long time, even IF it’s in a negative light.
Keep reading ‘the heartbreaking announcement of their divorce’? My heart isn’t broken. They weren’t together long enough for heartbreak. Even for them. Their hearts might break that HOPEFULLY reality tv will now shelve them forever.
Gerry twisted the truth too many times and the pre-nup dashed all his dreams of sponging off of her. Those of us with experience saw this coming for sure.
