Kaity Biggar and her fiance Zach Shallcross recently took an unexpected walk down memory lane. During a joint appearance on the new Bachelor Happy Hour: Golden Hour podcast, they revealed that watching Joey Graziadei’s season of The Bachelor brought their own journey back.
Kaity was a contestant on Zach’s season of The Bachelor. He ended up proposing to her during the season finale, but they had a few bumps along the way. The most notable was his decision to be intimate with Gabi Elnicki during the Fantasy Suite Dates after vowing not to.
He further found himself in hot water with viewers and Gabi by confessing the tryst to Kaity. Despite Zach’s behavior, Kaity forgave him and accepted his proposal.
The new podcast is hosted by Golden Bachelor alums Kathy Swarts and Susan Noles. As an Austin, Texas, resident, Kathy has formed a friendship with Kaity and Zach. She even offered them her house when they were looking for a new place.
Zach Shallcross Reveals When He Knew He’d Choose Kaity Biggar
Did Gabi Elnicki know that she wasn’t his choice before he did? The podcast hosts asked Zach when he knew Kaity was the one. The Bachelor star explained that it took him a while to realized that he wanted to spend his life with Kaity.
He said, “Throughout the whole process, I was very in my own head. I analyzed everything to a tee. I overwhelmed myself trying to figure out who is the right partner for me and who checked off all the boxes.”
However, he admitted that how he went about choosing his future wife wasn’t working. “The problem was is that I was being so analytical mentally that I wasn’t letting myself just take a step back and feel where my heart is taking me. Who was I truly in love with and where was my heart taking me,” he said on the podcast. So, when did he decide?
Surprisingly, he confessed that it wasn’t until the last minute. “The actual moment when it clicked for me was the day before the engagement,” Zach told Kathy and Susan.
But he had a good reason for taking his time. “Engagement was a big deal for me. I wasn’t just going to propose for the sake of proposing at the end of it. Either I was going to feel 100% confident or I wasn’t going to make a decision like that for myself.”
