‘American Pickers’ Danielle Colby Speaks Up About Sex Workers
Danielle Colby is sounding off about how she believes the algorithm on social media is doing its best to silence sex workers. She made a post about how she believes the content that sex workers, including herself, post is being pushed down on feeds. Keep reading to see what she has to say.
What Is Danielle’s Role On American Pickers?
Most people will recognize Danielle Colby from American Pickers. It is a History Channel series that follows various pickers across America who are searching for rare treasures.
The family visits different collectors across the country and then sells their discoveries in their antique shop. Sometimes, they might even love an item enough to add it to their own personal collection.
When it first premiered in 2010, the show documented the stories of Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz as they traveled across the country in search of rare finds. Danielle Colby ran the back office at Mike’s store Antique Archaeology.
Frank Fritz had to leave the show due to health concerns and hasn’t been able to return. That’s when Danielle stepped up to accompany Mike on his excursions.
Danielle Colby Is Outspoken On Several Subjects
While she stars on American Pickers, that isn’t the only thing keeping Danielle Colby busy. She has been a vocal advocate for the rights of sex workers online. Her Instagram hosts links for OnlyFans and Patreon where fans can pay for “premium content.”

She frequently shares risque and revealing photos. However, her most recent post was speaking up for other people like herself.
Danielle Colby believes that people in the sex industry are “being slaughtered” and “silenced” by the algorithm on social media. She posted a cut-off Instagram post circling how many people engaged with the photo. There were only dozens of likes compared to the thousands she normally sees on posts.
In the caption, she wrote, “Is this happening to you too? I’ve noticed my social media being slowly silenced but I’ve been pretty much turned off now by the algorithm. My posts, stories and bio have been mysteriously deleted on multiple occasions over the last month.”
She continued, “This usually happens when I speak about injustice done to women or marginalized people in the sex work industry and beyond, such as those being slaughtered in the world currently. But strippers are used to being silenced…. I’ll just find another loophole to slide through so that I may continue to speak but this is what the patriarchy does.”

The American Pickers star continued, writing that “they” are trying to silence different marginalized people. She also brought up freedom of speech and cognitive dissonance. “Understanding that eventually gives way to anger and then cognitive dissonance (Cognitive dissonance is the mental discomfort that results from holding two conflicting beliefs, values, or attitudes) forcing change for those capable of it,” Danielle wrote.
Then, she concluded the post with a few inspirational words for her followers. “Please, Keep on speaking louder, in more places, in ever more creative ways. I love you. You’ve got this!”
Danielle Colby has been outspoken on various topics over the years. She was raised by Jehovah’s Witnesses and has opened up about her own sexual abuse as a child and her own abusive relationships.
