‘American Idol’ Platinum Ticket Winners Give Stunning Performance
Many aspiring musicians are looking forward to the start of Hollywood Week on American Idol, which kicks off tonight. While the platinum ticket winners are safe from elimination during the first week in Hollywood, that doesn’t mean they won’t perform. Abi Carter, Julia Gagnon, and Odell Bunton Jr. will take the stage and enjoy the spotlight tonight. Videos of the performance have been shared and it is breathtaking. Keep reading to see the clip.
This Season Introduces The Idol Arena
This season of American Idol will introduce a few changes to the competition. During Hollywood Week, the judges have decided to add Idol Arena. All 143 artists will convene. In the end, the judges plan to cut the group down to only 56 people. That makes this one of the biggest cuts to ever be made in American Idol history. The major change has some of the contestants unnerved.
American Idol contestant Emmy Russell said, “I’m a nervous human being, so getting on there is anxious, fighting through it. I did sing a very personal song called ‘Like That’ on guitar. I was really nervous playing that one, but I’m trying to own it a little bit more. You’ll just see a slow incline. I’ll be getting a little stronger.”
American Idol Platinum Ticket Winners Sing Their Hearts Out
Even though platinum ticket winners Abi Carter, Julia Gagnon, and Odell Bunton Jr. don’t technically have to perform tonight, they will be singing California Dreamin’. The song, which was originally performed by The Mama and The Poppas, pays tribute to their journey to Hollywood.
The trio wanted to go above and beyond to prove themselves worthy of the platinum tickets they received during their auditions. Each one of them will be singing their own solo section of the song, but they also join at the edge to create a perfect harmony together. The performance is truly stunning.
Fans were quick to show their support for the three rising stars. One person wrote on YouTube, “I absolutely love that each of their solos had a different musical arrangement, and they all were given equal time to showcase their brow raising vocals before coming together to blow the roof off that place while simultaneously snatching at everyone’s scalps and edges!!”
Another fan added, “Folks, if you haven’t listened to this with a decent headset, I highly recommend it. Wow! The subtleties and control in all of their voices is just as impressive as their power. These three are so far ahead of most of the others that I can’t help but imagine a lot of them are scared stiff watching this.”
A third person wrote, “This was amazing!!! Abi’s tone, Odell’s precision and Julia’s power are just out of this world.”
