Wendy Williams Gets Schooled About Booze By Howard Stern
Both Howard Stern and Wendy Williams gained a reputation for being straight shooters during their time in the spotlight. That is until the gossip was about their own personal lives. Howard called Wendy out on her alcoholism 11 years ago, but The Wendy Williams Show host shrugged it off. The clip has resurfaced on the web and has a whole new feel to it, given what has been revealed about Wendy’s health recently. Keep reading to see the video interview from 2013.
Wendy Shrugs Off Infidelity In Interview With Howard Stern
Howard Stern and Wendy Williams didn’t shy away from tough topics during their time in the limelight. Wendy often exposed unsavory things going on in Hollywood, while Howard would ask hard-hitting (borderline rude) questions during his interviews. So, there is no wonder that a conversation between the two icons would cover some tense topics.
In 2013, the pair sat down for an interview and it covered a wide range of topics about Wendy Williams’ life. At one point during the conversation, Howard Stern hinted at Wendy’s alcoholism. A Reddit user shared a clip of Wendy Williams appearing on Howard Stern’s radio show.
Several people took the time to search for the entire interview and there were several troubling topics covered. Kevin Hunter accompanied Wendy to the interview where Howard asked about his infidelity.
The couple addressed Kevin’s first bout of cheating, which he says only happened once while Wendy Williams was on bedrest during her pregnancy with their son. At the time, Wendy shrugged it off and said she didn’t care.
“The first interview has [Kevin] actually talking about his first infidelity case while she was pregnant and on bedrest. It’s. SO. Sad,” one fan wrote. “They said it was a one-time thing and she didn’t care at all. She also talks about exposing gay rappers which is relevant to Diddy nowadays.”
Clip Foreshadows Wendy Williams’ Issues With Alcohol
Then Howard directed the conversation to discuss Wendy’s sobriety. She clarified that she didn’t go to rehab at the time. “I just quit,” Wendy said. Howard asked, “Were you drinking?” and she responded, “No, coking.” Then Howard asked if the daytime TV icon ever drank.
“Well, I still drink,” Wendy replied. “I don’t have a problem with drinking. Howard Stern pointed out that if she’s still consuming alcohol, she is technically not sober. This prompted him to ask, “How do you know you don’t have a problem with drinking?” Wendy Williams then told the radio show host that she didn’t trade coke for alcohol. It was as simple as that.
Fans took to the comment section to discuss the interview. “Howard and Wendy are both straight shooters, except when it comes to their own private lives. Really interesting to watch,” one person wrote. Another agreed, “She sure was in denial,” while a third commented, “Also people that are alcoholics or know them can [definitely] spot [them.]”

Given what we know about Wendy’s health now, this interview is a bit haunting. In February, Wendy Williams was diagnosed with progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Her son said that the diagnosis came after years and years of drinking.
At one point, medical professionals told Kevin Hunter Jr. that his mother’s dementia was alcohol-induced. If she continued to drink, she would start to experience extreme memory loss and other cognitive issues. This is something the public saw come to fruition after the end of The Wendy Williams Show.
