‘American Pickers’: Mike Wolfe Stops Filming The Latest Season
The History Channel’s megahit reality television American Pickers has had more than its share of tough times. The failing health of the show’s beloved star, Frank Fritz, seemed to top the list of tough times. However, with the ratings plummeting, it appears another issue has come up. Mike Wolfe has stopped filming American Pickers.
Mike Wolfe And The Bad Ratings
The ratings of American Pickers continue to drop. The once wildly popular show on The History Channel does not appear to be as popular as it once was. Fans are just not finding a reason to continue watching Mike Wolfe and the other pickers as they try to save American history.
There could be several reasons for the drop in the ratings. Some have concluded it is because Mike Wolfe is too centered around historical cars. This doesn’t appeal to the women who have been watching the show for all these years. Of course, there is the absence of Frank Fritz. Fans of American Pickers want Frank Fritz back.
Frank Fritz
Frank Fritz left the show due to the fact he was recovering from back surgery. He was then fired from American Pickers. This sent fans into a frenzy, demanding the beloved star return.
Even if The History Channel would rehire Frank Fritz, it is unknown if he would be able to return. In addition to the back surgery, Frank Fritz had a stroke. His failing health may make it impossible for him to return to American Pickers.
Mike Wolfe Stopped Filming
In the middle of all of this, Mike Wolfe stopped filming American Pickers. Photos posted on Instagram show Robbie Wolfe, the younger brother of Mike Wolfe, out on a pick in Alabama. He was with the newest member of the American Pickers‘ cast, Jon “Jersey Jon” Szalay.
At the same time, Mike Wolfe posted a photo of him driving in Tennessee. He captioned the photo “Full moon tonight in the 1960 Impala feels good to be back home.” He was not with the other pickers in Alabama.
What Does This Mean For American Pickers?
Fans are wondering what this means for American Pickers. As difficult as it has been for the fans of the show without Frank Fritz, it is hard to imagine The History Channel reality show continuing without Wolfe.
It is hard to imagine Mike giving up on American Pickers. He worked too hard to get the show on The History. Just a few days ago, he was begging people to watch the show. Sadly, Mike Wolfe might have reached his breaking point and is throwing in the towel.

My wife and I have been not watching “Pickers “ for a few reasons.
Time slot is too late for us.
The missing Frank Fritz is a bad thing but we understand that health issues can be devastating. But we still miss him.
The car and motorcycle appearances are getting a bit much but they are fun.
We have a huge amount of items that used to be interesting to Mike but we have reached out 5 times now with no response from them knowing full well they are in Wisconsin and within miles Of our location.
Their website is cluttered with items that are overpriced and tons of marketing items for self promotion.
Try to get more back to the basics would help we think and again an earlier time slot.
His brother is an anchor, where’s Dave? Just not the same without the bundle master Frank!!!
I still watch American Pickers but it will never be the same without The bearded charmer Frank Fritz! But Frank will never be healthy enough to work again on the show. I love Jersey John!! He’s funny and very knowledgeable and I like when him & Mike pick together. Now Robbie, I have nothing against him. He just don’t have the charisma. Cool guy but no personality. So I’ll watch until it ends.

The 2 of them had a great chemistry in the early years. But Mike started changing how he treated Frank. It ceased being an awesome team after that. And Danielle just doesn’t fit the dynamic that was American Pickers 😥
They never really were a team exactly. Mike carried them and seemed to be the real business buyer. Frank was a cheap, neurotic, anxiety ridden, WEIRD, creepy, little thing and I’m so glad he’s gone! Watching seasons back he really makes it uncomfortable compared to recent seasons. And Danielle doesn’t fit the dynamic?? Not sure wth you’re talking about, she is part of the fabric of AP!

Get rid of the motorcycles and stop making the show about mike! Seems he gets all the good stuff and his side kicks get the scraps mike doesn’t want.

I’m the only one who can save this show. tell him that. sometimes it takes not what you know but rather what people what to know. my solution is simple and he will love it. I only ask one thing though. I don’t want to have my 15 minutes of fame but rather the people in this country to. if you really care then prove it. if not then this will never go away for him. trust me I know. but I already know the answer you will tell me. not him but the people with ability to help him. no.. but at least I did my part for the people. take care Mike. maybe one day they will let you read this. but probably not.
I love Mike! He always pays high dollar for the item, and he is friendly and respectful with the seller! If the show only had Frank it would be boring, also he was very cheap when paying for items. I did like Frank. Mike and Frank complimented each other! Robbie on the other hand, not so interesting! I enjoy watching AP!
look, Frank is never coming back to AP. so can we stop whining about Frank. besides, I think Frank was holding Mike back. I love this show and all its current pickers. let’s move forward and support Mike and keep this sow on. it is one of a handful of shows worth watching.

Haven’t watched in years. Once I found out it’s basically fake , I quit watching. Mike has a crew come into the places he picks before he gets there. The crew goes through the pick first picking out stuff and looking up the facts on the stuff. Then Mike comes and they act like they find it and know stuff about it. It’s your basic setup.
I’m a UK fan of American pickers.

We miss Frank but we didn’t stop watching until Danni started picking. She’s fine in the shop and finding leads but so annoying as a picker. We would turn the show on and if she was picking we’d turn it off. We like Jersey.
I agree! Danni looks and dresses like some misplaced homeless person! Her animated fake interjections make me want to vomit! As for the rest of the cast I’m ok with. I do miss Frank but stuff happens and he’s not physically fit to continue. I’ll continue to watch just not the parts where Danni is featured.
I watched pickers for a very long time and even after Frank was gone but I am sick of Mike’s brother he is arrogant and boring and would like to see the girl back in the office where she belongs she’s definitely not a picker. Jersey is a good one to take Frank’s place.
First of all never liked Frank …his inadequacies and psych problems showed through…made me squirm…
I still watch new shows, I like Robbie and Jon…car parts episodes are a bit boring…but compared to all the crap that’s on, still enjoy it…
I don’t think the ratings are failing due to the content of motorcycles and old cars! Those are the ones I am sure to watch! But then I have been an old car guy my whole life! Some of the weird picks are not for some people! I don’t watch them and of course we miss Frank!

Myself I enjoy it more then ever. I could not stand Frank. He was forever trying beat people out of money by bundling. Had they picked my place i would of only wanted Mike and never Frank. I enjoy Robbie and Jersey so much more. I pray it stays on the air.

People have read from numerous sources that the show is staged.
After watching it you can really tell. Franks low ball and bundling would have made people to stop and tell them to get off the property! Now with Mike’s obsession with old cars and bikes, you can tell they been searched out and negotiated before the pickers got there.
Love Mike and Robbie and Jersey Jon. And Danni keeping things organized back home. Great team. I would dearly miss AP if they werent producing new shows. I love them finding the smalls, but the show as a whole is great. Please Mike, stick with it. If Im ever down south to Iowa Ill stop in. This Canadian lover of vintage and antiques find the show as is, first class. Thank you for your endeavours travelling the country digging up treasures.
I stopped watching ÀP some time after Frank left, not because he left but because the show got old. I agree with others here that Danielle was not a good picker but that she was great running the store, etc. About that time Mike changed and it wasn’t for the better. I felt that his TV persona/ego was getting out of hand. Maybe he felt that Frank was holding him back or that Mike wanted ALL camera attention.
Whatever went on, Mike became annoying to watch. I also agree that Robbie seems like a nice guy but is just way too boring for TV. The Jersey guy is just another distraction from what used to be a show about two guys from a small Iowa town making a living while we watched. All things come to an end and it’s time that Mike realizes that, too. Time to move on to your next project Mike, kinda like the way you moved on from your wife to you new honey.
I have alot of antiques and unusual collectables that I would like for Mike to come look at and make me an offer.
I am 78 and my husband died 4 years ago and I have had a very hard time since then due to several hacks and scams. I collected these things to help after retirement and need to let go of them to help with my financial survival. I am in east TX near Lake Fork and would love for Mike to help me survive in my last years? PLEASE CONSIDER TO COME HELP ME ASAP!!!
Bring back Frank Fritz. Treat him how you would like to be treated. Finnally, quit being a jerk Mike.
Mike has not left the show. Was just at my place in Alabama for a pick with Jersey.

Robbie seems phony and is pompous and he is the reason we didn’t watch as much as we used to. If we turn it on and see Robbie, we turn the channel.
I can’t put my finger on why it’s not as interesting as before. I still watch every new episode. One thing is that Robbie is boring. I mean boring. Mike needs to get rid of the beard. But get rid of Robbie and find someone with some humor and social skills. Still find the search for antiques awesome stuff. Spice the show up and get the audiences back.
I stopped watching because Robbie is annoying and obnoxious. If Danielle was picking I would turn the channel. Haven’t watched in years as this show has run its course!
I’ve always enjoyed the AP even when. the items were something I would never buy it ..was cool and fun to see Mike’s enthusiasm. I never thought it was “Staged” or fake because I really enjoyed the history of an item or the way it was used, repurposed collected. many times it was stuck so far back you know they had just seen it. It doesn’t matter to me who is on because Mike is the show a.nd without him there is no show. I always loved S

Frank was a cheap Weasel. He would never hesitate to cheat people out of money. There’d be elderly people who didn’t have a clue as to the value of their items, offering them for nothing, and Frank would still beat them down on price. I would quit watching an episode when Frank would do this!
