Mike Wolfe: Why is the ‘American Pickers’ Star Begging?
It is hard to believe American Pickers is currently in its 25th season. It does not feel like this show has been on the History Channel that long. Fans have seen the highs and the lows of Mike Wolfe and his picking partners. Now, fans are seeing new lows. Those new lows have Wolfe begging anyone who will listen.
The History Of American Pickers
The purpose of American Pickers was to save history, more specifically American history, “one pick at a time.” It began with two friends, Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, traveling around the United States. They were looking at barns, garages and everywhere else for pieces of history. Those pieces of history were then resold in their store in Iowa.
The premise of the show is pretty much the same, but American Pickers, like other reality television shows, has gone through some changes. Frank Fritz is no longer a part of the show. Due to his health issues, Frank Fritz had to stop picking with Mike Wolfe. Fritz had a stroke a few years ago and his health just isn’t where it should be. Now, the show is centered around Mike Wolfe, his brother Robbie Wolfe and Danielle Colby. Jon “Jersey Jon” Szalay has also been introduced as a regular on American Pickers.
Mike Wolfe Watches The Rating Drops
With all the changes American Pickers has recently been through, Mike Wolfe is watching the ratings drop. The History Channel’s hit show is not doing as well as it could be doing.
What was once a wildly popular show, American Pickers is slipping lower and lower in the ratings. The History Channel does not appear to have a plan as to how to improve ratings.
Mike Wolfe Is Now Begging People
Mike Wolfe loves his picking lifestyle. He loves being a part of American Pickers. Because of this, he is now begging people to watch the show. If the History Channel will not do anything to save American Pickers, Mike Wolfe will do something. And, he is not above begging.
Mike Wolfe took to Instagram in an effort to peak people’s interest in American Pickers. He posted a series of photos of him out picking. He captioned the series of photos with “Last call too watch tonight’s episode of @americanpickers on the @history channel! Don’t miss this train at 9/8c!”
American Pickers Fans Are Begging Too
Mike Wolfe isn’t the only one begging. The fans of American Pickers are begging as well. It appears the majority of those fans want Frank Fritz to return. Sadly, at this point, his health will not allow him to return.
The absence of Frank Fritz has forced at least one fan to give American Pickers an ultimatum. “I’ll only watch American Pickers if it’s a rerun with Frank. Carry on,” a social media user stated.

I love American Pickers and will continue watching.
American Pickers isn’t a Show without Frank Fritz. Mike is Boring without Frank. Frank was American Picker’s.
Get rid of Jersey Jon asap. The guy is annoying, and really doesn’t add to the show. The rest of the cast is fine. Frank Fritz is sorely missed, but I get it. I quit watching the shows when they brought on Jersey Jon.
If l had to ” PICK ” a reason for the the dwindling interest, l would state that the show lost its luster when it lost Frank. The show was about meeting real people where they lived. Frank was the genuine component on the team. Real America is about real people. Contemporary media still believes that it has to always promote the ” pretty boy ” imagine. Those guys are arrogant , and they don’t want to share the limelight with another. Teamwork makes the world go round. It made the show successful. Best wishes to Frank and to bad for the Wolfe. I have a better opportunity for Frank anyway.

I don’t really care for Robbie I don’t really care for a jersey Jon . Even Danielle annoys me lately. I believe the show has run its course. I just thought it was horrible that they fired Frank and brought and Robbie. It seems everyone feels the same way ….bring Frank back!! although he probably won’t come back because of his recent stroke. It was a good show while it lasted. In season one Mike said his brother had another job. It was a total lie. Mike wanted his brother on the show right from the get-go but the history channel wanted somebody that was different. That’s why he picked Frank. I think he lost his credibility when he ride about his brother at the beginning, at least to me.
Banter.. the relationship between Mike and Frank was all about banter. It made them real. I, personally, am tired of seeing them pick bicycles, motorcycles, signs, toys. I would like to see them branch out. Visit some people who have big collections and can teach you and us about something new. It’s so hard to tell whether a show is new or a rerun, because nothing much changes. I am a woman and I love cars, so that excuse doesn’t really fly with me.
All that’s needed is Frank Fritz!!!
I personally didn’t care for Frank. He was a bit pushy. I will say that lately there have been too many repeats and mashups of previous eps, and waaaay too much car stuff. I do like Danielle and the brothers.
I tried to help. I tried to reach out to the history channel. long before this got out of hand,but as I stated no response would come back to me,I’m not naive but rather have a unsual gift and I tried to apply it for the history channel and Mike to use. But as I stated in the previous comments that I would never hear from them has come true.. I don’t care about but rather what the show is really about. “The people Mike,the people you brought to our attention”. It is sad that we will lose that.
