Dave Turin Starred in Gold Rush Working For Todd Hoffman

Dave Turin’s new Gold Rush spinoff series America’s Backyard Gold is premiering. However, many fans remember him from the OG, working for the Hoffman team. Dave Turin was a guest star in the first season of the hit gold mining series, but after that, he was a regular. Despite his levelheadedness, he left in Season 7 for the most shocking of reasons.

As seen in the Discovery video, Dave Turin got into a physical altercation with Trey Poulson in Season 7. Feeling he was disrespected, the usually calm Turin just blew his cool. He wound up disagreeing with his mine boss Todd Hoffman, and he left the series. Todd wound up leaving one year later. This inability of the team to get along took a toll on everyone.

However, now Turin tells TV Insider that he has “made peace with it.” But, there was a time of deep struggle. Dave admits, “This was a difficult time in my life because that was my identity.” He went on to share that he tried his “best to make amends.” After that, he felt he could move forward.

The struggle was not just about what happened. He lost his livelihood. He shared that “Nobody was going to hand me a new job.” He also revealed that he pitched a couple of shows before he returned to Discovery. Most of all, he proved that his hard work has paid off. Although many remember that altercation, he has moved on, and is focused on helping regular folks get gold.

Don’t Miss America’s Backyard Gold On Discovery

It looks like the fourth time’s the charm for the Gold Rush alum. Dave revealed that “I enjoy this one more than any of them.” He revealed that most people already knew his story. He has the opportunity to learn theirs. Most of all, it is satisfying for him.

When you meet someone passionate about what they’re doing, it’s infectious. There truly is gold fever. It’s a great TV show, and I think people will enjoy it.
