‘Shark Tank’: Who Is Guest Shark Jason Blum?
There is a brand-new episode of Shark Tank on tonight. Along with the four new entrepreneurs pitching their products, there is also a guest shark on the show. This guest is Jason Blum, and there might be one product that interests this very successful shark.
Here is a look at who Shark Tank guest shark Jason Blum is and what he might be investing in on tonight’s episode.
Who Is Jason Blum On Shark Tank?
Every so often, a guest shark arrives on Shark Tank from different realms of business and entertainment. This week, it is Jason Blum and he comes from Hollywood. Blum is a man who self-launched his career by creating a form of filmmaking that has become more successful financially than almost any other in Hollywood.
Jason Blum started in the 1990s when he worked for Miramax as an executive. He had some success in his early days, but things really kicked off for him when he started his own production company called Blumhouse Productions. His goal was to allow filmmakers to create micro-budget movies while directors maintained full creative control. This paid off big time when he released the horror movie Paranormal Activity. The movie cost only $15,000 to make and grossed over $200 million.
Things only got better from there for Blum. He produced Insidious, Sinister, The Purge, Happy Death Day, and the movies following them as sequels and spinoffs. This helped turn Jason Blum into a very wealthy man. He serves on the board of the Sundance Institute and the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. He also donated $10 million to Vassar College, the largest total ever for that university.
What Could Jason Blum Invest In On Shark Tank?
There are a lot of businesses that Jason Blum could invest in. Tonight on Shark Tank, there are four that are mostly different. Two are in the realm of good, with one making healthy dessert items and the other a technologically advanced food market. There is also an app that allows people to shoot videos on their phones and turn them into games.

However, one of the other pitches might be right up Jason Blum’s alley. The Murder Mystery Co. is pitching their product on Shark Tank tonight and they are a theater troupe that puts on murder mystery parties. While the company started in Grand Rapids, Michigan, it has since moved around the country.
The company puts on over 7,500 shows a year. They have actors from all over the country working on these events, which are interactive and allow people at parties or team-building events to help solve the murder mysteries in the events.
