Teen Mom star Ryan Edwards has filed for divorce once again from his wife, Mackenzie Edwards. Their original divorce filing was dismissed so it appeared that the couple was going to stay together. That is no longer the situation as Ryan has reopened the case. Read on for more details.

Teen Mom Ryan Edwards Files For Divorce Again, Reopens Case

Mackenzie Edwards had filed for divorce from Ryan Edwards in February 2023. He then ended up behind bars but was ultimately transferred to a rehab facility. Both parties moved on with other people as Mackenzie dated a longtime friend for a short period of time. As for Ryan, he met a fellow single parent, Amanda Conner who proved to have quite a past of her own. It was even alleged that she tried to keep Ryan from seeing his children. He has two with Mackenzie and a son, Bentley with ex-fiancee, Maci Bookout. Their combative romance was first seen on 16 & Pregnant.

They moved on to Teen Mom and ended their engagement with Ryan struggling personally. Maci ended up with a new man, getting married, and starting her own family. It was just recently that she tried to make things work with Ryan and co-parenting amicably. With Ryan out of rehab, he and Mackenzie still had their divorce filing out but then it was dismissed. It seemed no one took further action but they then had thirty days to reopen it. According to The Sun, Ryan has filed, once again, for divorce from Mackenzie.

The filing occurred on Wednesday, March 6th, and stated “divorce with minor child.” Ryan Edwards is also hoping to implement a permanent parenting plan for himself and his estranged wife. Initially, on February 19th, the case was dismissed, reading: “It is ordered by the court that this case be, and the same is hereby dismissed, without prejudice, with the cost taxed against the plaintiff.” That is due to the 270 days it sat with nothing moving ahead so there was no more to be done.

Mackenzie Fights, Too

Apparently, Mackenzie Edwards also tried to keep the divorce case open. Per The Ashley, it seemed Ryan Edwards was locked up when Mackenzie filed. Therefore, that could have been responsible for any delay. According to docs:

“On November 3, 2023, following [Ryan’s] release [from jail], the parties scheduled mediation… [Ryan] appeared for the mediation but terminated the session immediately. Thereafter [Ryan] was again incarcerated for a shorter period of time.”

Now that Ryan has filed again, hopefully, they can both follow through with their divorce and go their separate ways.

Are you shocked that they had to reopen this case and nothing was finalized the first time around? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
