Wendy Williams Fans Defend Her After Documentary Aired

What Wendy Williams is going through is more than heartbreaking. After battling issues with addiction and all her health issues revolving around her autoimmune disorders, the former talk show host is now facing the worst news of all. Thankfully, she is not alone. Fans of Wendy Williams have come out in droves to defend her and support her through everything she is currently going through.

Wendy Williams’ Latest Health Problems

Wendy Williams was diagnosed with Graves’ disease, an autoimmune disorder, quite a while ago. Adding to her already failing health, she has new health problems to deal with. The former talk show host has been diagnosed with both Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) and aphasia.

These two diseases are horrible for everyone who has them. It is also horrific for those who are caring for a loved one who have them. There are no known cures. The treatment for both FTD and aphasia is quite limited. Those limited treatments are not known to be very effective.

Social Media Erupts With Support

When Wendy Williams’ fans heard this news, they immediately went to social media to voice their concerns and support. Her fans were not only concerned about her health but also about the documentary, Where Is Wendy Williams?, which was recently released. They were not the least bit shy about letting their feelings be known.

Social media users, the fans of Williams, were not happy with the documentary. Many called it “exploitative” and “disturbing.” There were also fans who went as far as to say it was “ethically wrong.”

“It is totally ethically wrong to exploit a person who has now been diagnosed with a delibating disease as Wendy Williams has been,” one X user stated.

I don’t know who allowed this documentary to be aired but it feels very exploitative of someone who has dementia. I’ve never been a fan of #WendyWilliams but everyone has a right to their dignity. Whoever approved this should be ashamed,” another X user scolded.

X, formerly known as Twitter, used exploded on the social media platform in defense of Wendy Williams. Many believed the former talk show host was being used and taken advantage of. Seeing her recent diagnosis of Frontotemporal Dementia, it would be quite difficult to disagree. Wendy Williams is in a fragile state. She has been for a long time. Having Frontotemporal Dementia only makes matters worse.

Wendy Williams Responds To Her Fans

Despite her failing health, the former talk show host was able to respond to all the love and support her fans gave her. She did this in a touching statement to Today.

“I want to say I have immense gratitude for the love and kind words I have received after sharing my diagnosis of Aphasia and Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD),” she said. “Let me say, wow! Your response has been overwhelming. The messages shared with me have touched me, reminding me of the power of unity and the need for compassion.”
