Family Feud host Steve Harvey is being slammed by fans for cheating a contestant out of a win. Many people believe the contestants on the popular game show deserve more leniency with the answers to the puzzles. During a recent episode, viewers think that a contestant was robbed of their win and they’re blaming Steve. Keep reading to see why.

Family Loses Feud Round In Huge Upset

The Webb family went up against the Arrowood families and faced off on Family FeudRachel, from the Webb side, and Haley, from the Arrowood side, approached the podium to answer one of Steve’s questions.

He asked the women to name “something you’d like to give your mother-in-law.” Many people believe that Haley hit the buzzer first and it did not register, so it was handed off to Rachel. Her answer shocked many people when she replied with, “A fist!” She accompanied her answer by making a fist and thrusting it forward.

Not surprisingly, Rachel’s answer was not on the board, earning her a loud X. Unfortunately, Haley wasn’t able to come up with an answer for her family to steal. Angie, Rachel’s teammate, came up with an answer and the Webbs decided to move forward and play.

Steve Harvey went down the line, getting answers for the puzzle from each family member. Eventually, Rachel got the chance to answer again and she had another unorthodox thought. She replied, “A piece of my mind.” Her answer provided zero points for the team and earned them their third strike. The board was then handed over to the Arrowood family.

If Rachel’s answer had been accepted, it could have made the difference between a win and a loss for the family. Instead, the Arrowoods gave the answer “Give their daughter back.” It was number two on the board and they took the round.

Fans Call Out Steve Harvey For Stealing The Win

Once the round was over, the answers on the board were revealed. Number eight was “The Finger.” Many viewers at home felt Rachel’s answer should have counted. They believed that “A piece of my mind” should have been considered the same as “The Finger.”

Family Feud fans took to social media to sound off about Rachel’s misfortune and call out Steve Harvey for cheating her out of a win.

One person shared the clip with the caption, “WTH?? Rachel wants to do what to her mother-in-law??” Then she said that Steve and the show should have given her the answer.

“I feel like she meant ‘the finger’ when she said ‘the fist’………that should have counted,” a viewer shared on social media. Another questioned the show, “Shouldn’t ‘a piece of your mind’ and ‘your finger’ be considered in the same category?” A third person agreed, “In this context ‘a piece of my mind’ and ‘the finger’ are close enough to give it to them.”

Several people placed the blame at Steve Harvey‘s feet and they believe that there should be more leniency in answers moving forward. What do you think? Let us know in the comments.

  1. I think these mamyoamby cry babies need to grow up. The answers were wrong and they need to deal with it. A fist isn’t a finger and it’s not Steve’s fault she misspoke. And the finger isn’t a piece of the mind, telling them off is. Next you people going to just want them to give you the prize money for just showing up.

    1. ummmm… do people not notice that he looks at the judges after almost every answer? He doesn’t decide which answers get accepted or not.
He often acts surprised himself when answers are accepted or rejected.

    2. I agree. Those two answers were wrong. A finger is a finger. When you say I should give them a piece of my mind is not a fist or finger. It is a statement. The judges were right to buzz her answer wrong.

    3. The answer was wrong & I’ve never punched with my “middle finger” or gave someone the “fist” – they lost and the show made the right decision XXX.

    4. I agree with you 100%!!
plus I am getting tired of these lound mouth women always yelling and never shutting up. sometimes Steve looks annoyed!! I turn them off and won’t watch again till they loose!!

    5. I disagree! The ” finger” and
” piece of my mind” are so far off. Please! That leaves it too wide open. Grow a pair and get over yourelves.

  2. I believe that neither of her answers were matches for the correct answers. They mean totally different things. Why is it Steve’s fault her answers weren’t accepted!? He asks the questions he doesn’t have anything to do with whether the answers given are correct or not. Either the answers are on the board or they aren’t.

  3. A fist is not a finger. Stop bellyaching sore loser.
I do on the other hand wonder how Steve Harvey ever kept that job with what I see as a speech impediment. Time is money especially on the “Fast Money” round. I’ve seen people lose their opportunity to win due to Steve Harveys garbled pronunciations which has to be repeated.

    1. BINGO! Robert cooj… Steve does not determine if an answer is acceptable or not. He usually looks at someone sitting in the front row when things are questionable. Probably the producers.

  4. I agree a fist is not a finger. Besides it is up to the judges and not Steve to allow an answer.or not. Stop blaming him!

  5. I agreed with most of the comment here that neither of her statements were a match for the finger. Steve was right and the Judge were correct. Steve did not cheat.

  6. How ridiculous! Your fist or a piece of your mind is not the same as your finger. Steve and the judges were correct!

  7. Steve constantly looks directly at the judges to see if they are accepting a contestants answer. They say if it is the same Not Steve Not his fault!

  8. as most have replied the finger is different than the fist which would be punching, it’s also not the same as a piece of her mind which would be a verbal assault. Steve doesn’t decide what is wrong or right, there are judges who determine that.

  9. STFU, to whomever is complaining. This is the problem with society today, everyone wants a trophy. There are winners and losers, and they lost. Suck it up and move on. There have been much worse things said in this show, if this person wanted to say the finger, than they should have. WHHHHAAAAAAA!!!!!

  10. Watch the show and pay attention. Steve Harvey does not make the decisions on right or wrong answers. He does on rare occasions step in to give more time to clarify the answer given. Some times it “seems” the other person hit the buzzer first. But, the buzzer indicates the first hit. Love it or leave it. I have seen a team get to come back after losing because it was later determined their answer was correct. It is meant to be a fun show and they try hard. Love it or leave it.

  11. A fist do not I repeat do not mean the finger. People do anything for attention. the finger is the middle finger (1) a fist is all your fingers an thumb bolded up

  12. “The finger means “F You”, while a Fist means “I’m going to hit you with my fist.” Speaking one’s mind doesn’t automatically mean telling someone “F You.” It’s very clear she didn’t give the correct answers. It’s not much different from sign language.

  13. come on man, the cry babies that accused Steve of stealing money should be thrown out. Steve does not control the answers, he just asks the questions. the producer in the front row handles the answers. what a loser to accuse Steve. stop watching game shows.

  14. NEITHER ONE OF HER ANSWER WAS WHAT WAS THE RIGHT ONE. PEOPLE ALWAYS WANT A FREE RIDE AND ESPECIALLY WHEN MONEY COME TO THE PLAY. NEXT TIME FIND OUT WHAT PHASE GOES WITH WHAT AND THERE WONT BE NO GUESSING ABOUT IT.

  15. A finger is not the same as a fist or piece of mind so people need to get over it and stop blaming Steve for doing the right thing

  16. The answer was wrong. If you show your fist to someone, they infer you want to punch them. If you give them the finger, they know exactly what you’re relating to them and there’s no confusing the meaning of either. That’s it and that’s all.

  17. Steve Harvey is not in the wrong for this..the contestants are just stupid as hell and need to get over the fact they lost. Some people are just always trying to find a way to think money should just be handed over to them and wanna act so immature and put blame on others and not man up and be held accountable for the fact that they didn’t win, and maybe its a good thing they didn’t since they wanna act this way and ruin people’s lives or reputation just for their own gain and being damn greedy. Get real.

  18. people are just stupid. it’s the producers, not steve harvey, who determine whether an answer is correct or incorrect. and another thing, this article is ridiculous and unethical. what has become of journalists these days is a shame. 99% of the time, headlines are nothing but click-bait. honestly, when someone reads, “family feud, steve harvey accused of stealing from contestant,” one thinks he allegedly has scammed a contestant out of money, not that ignorant people on x think a contestant who answers wrong, but they think it was close enough, is equivalant to harvey stealing the win from them. and the writer fails to mention the fact of who judges the answers in the first place. im sure its the editor rather than the writer who comes up with the headline, but either way it is misleading and despicable. 99% of media today is either radically left-wing, woke, and fake. journalism has become a freaking clownshow and it sickens me that most of our population depend on mainstream media in their lives unaware that a mask is being pulled over their eyes and schools don’t teach our youth to critically think for themselves and we are now a couple of decades into a brainwashed society. sad times.

  19. umm no..the finger& piece of mind are NOT the same, and the “fist” isn’t the “finger”; especially since she did the “pow” motion..she knew what she meant. Accept the loss

  20. He changes the rules all the time. Sometimes if it is not the number one answer he will give the other family a chance to answer and sometimes he wont.
