Sister Wives fans often discuss money matters and Kody Brown, and they wonder if before the three OGs left him, he kept all the money from TLC. Of course, the subject has been discussed so many times, and Season 18 was no exception. In fact, theories point to Season 19 being a legal battle for Meri and Janelle to get the value of their assets from  Robyn and her husband.

Kody Brown And The Pot Of Money From The Show

Looking back, fans know that if a project came along, then they would hold a family discussion, and a pot of money would then either fund the project or not. Most TLC fans figured out that each wife received an amount for her household, once they lived in Las Vegas. However, it seemed that was where it ended. Actually, TLC fans will never forget that Christine Brown raised money for Ysabel’s back surgery.

Remember when Meri Brown wanted her BNB? She wanted money from the pot to kickstart her Lizzie’s Heritage Inn. First, Kody Brown and the other wives refused. In fact, they went behind Meri’s back and met about it. When they started relenting, she told them that she did not need their money as she’d made a plan. Exactly what sort of plan has been discussed by Sister Wives many times. Generally, whether she used her MLM money or not is still out with the jury.

Sister Wives Stars Started LLCs

Now that the family has broken up, the money from TLC more than likely may get paid directly to each wife who participates. These days, they have their own LLCs. However, it was Gwendyln Brown who talked about the cash going into the pot, while the women could do what they liked with their own money. Mind you, fans still argue over the issue.

Kody Brown and Robyn got some help from Janelle and Meri. Let’s leave Christine out of it for now, because she seems clear and free of the Coyote Pass properties. On a Reddit thread on Monday, an OP wondered how hard it must impact Robyn and Kody now that he no longer controls all the money.

How much income are K&R losing with the wives leaving?
My guess is in the six figures. I’m just curious how and if their lifestyle will change. Perhaps they will have to sell the Flagstaff mansion… From my understanding each household had an allowance from a family pot that everyone contributed to… I’m not clear on how it was distributed, obviously not evenly or fairly. I’m thinking some wives had their own income that was just theirs….I think Christine and Meri will be fine since they both had assets in just their name but worried for Janelle who tied up her LV equity on Robyn and kody’s mansion and CP. I hope she gets a clean break from K&R and ends the financial abuse she’s endured.

TLC Fans Discuss Kody Brown Feeling The Pinch

Nobody in the comments knows for certain how the money gets paid, but strong rumors suggest the money no longer goes into one pot, like the Duggar family. However, they hope that sheisty Kody and Robyn Brown hurt financially without the other wives.

  • I heard that as soon as C knew she was leaving, she opened her own LLC. Same with J. M, I think has always had her MLM money separate. But, yes, I’ve heard it said a few places that they all made their own LLC’s and TlC pays them through that now, separate from K&R. Who coincidentally, also opened a new LLC called DABSARK. All their initials! Isn’t that so sweet and original?? 🙄
  • That’s correct, but prior to that change it was all paid into one LLC which Kody had control of. It’s quite a bit of money too – something like 4 million over the course of the show.
  • The latest episodes and specials give me life because it’s just such torture for R&K that you KNOW they need the paychecks. Otherwise, WHY would they go through this? They haven’t saved anything all these years and they’ll quickly run through their savings when the series ends.

What are your thoughts? Did Meri get her loan eased up on the down payment based on business revenue? Or did she pay her own MLM money into it? What about the wives putting their money into the pot which basically, Kody controlled? Do you agree that the three OGs leaving left him and Robyn struggling for cash?
