For many people on My 600-Lb. Life, food is the only comfort they have. Rose, another individual who will appear in Season 12, said that food has always been a comfort for her. Another star added, “The only thing that makes me feel better is when I eat until it physically hurts.”

In many cases, it harms the individual’s family too. “William is like a crashing plane. You can’t stop it. It’s heartbreaking to look at it,” one star’s mother said as the TLC trailer showed William eating two pizzas topped with chips. The trailer then pans to another star, Deshaun, who says, “If I don’t stop eating, I’m gonna have a heart attack and die.”

“This is the chance of a lifetime so I’m gonna make the most of it,” another star, Jonathan, said of being on the show. His teary-eyed partner can be seen in the trailer saying, “I don’t care that he’s a big guy, but I want him to be alive.”
