How’s Derek Hough’s Wife, Hayley Erbert, Doing After Surgery?
How exactly is professional dancer Hayley Erbert these days?
Dancing With The Stars fans have been incredibly worried about the 29-year-old after her medical emergency while on tour. Her faithful husband Derek Hough has been by her side through the entire ordeal. However, Hayley hasn’t been on social media much since the incident.
PEOPLE did manage to obtain recent photos of the couple. Keep reading to get the scoop!
Hayley Erbert & Derek Hough were spotted back in Los Angeles
Hayley Erbert’s cranial hematoma happened while she and Derek Hough performed in Washington D.C. As a result, that means they spent several weeks in the hospital there, far away from their home in Los Angeles.
But thankfully, it seems like the pair is home again. PEOPLE obtained photos of Derek and Hayley out for a stroll in Los Angeles. The couple is dressed pretty normally, with Hayley’s baseball cap the only noticeable exception.
In an Instagram video, she shared a brief image of herself post-op. Her medical team had to shave her long, dark brown hair to successfully perform her skull surgeries.

After Hayley’s emergency, Derek canceled the remainder of his Symphony of Dance tour dates. Right now, his sole focus is helping Hayley rest and recover.
The good news is that it seems like her road to recovery is headed in a very positive direction. Fans hope that Hayley Erbert will be able to dance and perform again when she feels ready.
Happier times are ahead for the couple
When Derek Hough won an Emmy for his work on Dancing With The Stars a few weeks ago, he thanked his wife in his acceptance speech.
“A month ago was a life-changing moment that reminded me to really cherish and savor every moment,” Derek told the audience. “I want to dedicate this to my beautiful wife. I just flew in from Washington, D.C., last night. Your strength and your courage this whole month has been unbelievable. You inspired me every day.”
Hayley Erbert likely still has a long road ahead of her, but she’s already making plans for the future. Her best friend and Dancing With The Stars pro Britt Stewart is getting married and she needs Hayley’s help. Britt was a bridesmaid in Derek and Hayley’s wedding and it seems that Britt really wants Hayley to be part of her special day too.
“Hayley was one of the first people that I called after we got engaged,” Britt Stewart told The Messenger. “She’s like, ‘I am so ready to begin wedding planning with you.’ As soon as I’m ready, she’s ready. … She’s just waiting for me to pick up the phone and call her to dive in deep.”
