‘AGT’ Simon Cowell Explains Why He Wears Sunglasses On Show
America’s Got Talent fans have noticed something interesting about judge Simon Cowell lately. Simon has been wearing a pair of stylish orange-lensed sunglasses while working on the show. While some people thought it was an interesting style choice, Simon revealed there is a good reason he is wearing them now.

Simon Cowell has been wearing a pair of stylish orange-lensed sunglasses on AGT this season. Some fans have thought it was a weird style choice for the judge of the reality competition show. Others seemingly thought that Simon had some mysterious illness that he was keeping a secret. Simon saw people talking online about this possible “mystery illness” and took to Instagram to clear the air.
According to Simon, he is wearing the sunglasses for health reasons. However, it is not a mystery illness at its root. Instead, Simon said that two weeks ago he was getting painful migraines after long days of filming America’s Got Talent. He said that the bright stage lights during filming were causing the migraines and he had to miss two auditions because of it. The sunglasses protect his eyes and prevent future migraines.
“I do get migraines after long days in the filming lights,” Simon said. “Next week we are filming BGT in Manchester – I look forward to seeing you then. PS. This is why I wear these glasses!”
This is good news because it means Simon Cowell is not ill. Most of the rumors came vial people on social media talking about the sunglasses and giving their opinions on why he was wearing them. Luckily, Simon is there to reveal the truth about the situation.

Missing auditions thanks to the migraines isn’t the only thing that has held Simon Cowell back when it comes to America’s Got Talent. The always outspoken Cowell has also dealt with voice issues on the show.

In Season 18, Simon Cowell wasn’t able to speak during part of the Audition round. He actually lost his voice. In the episode, he had Sofia Vergara do the talking for him. it also gave Howie Mandel a good chance for some jokes about the situation, as he called it “serendipitous.” Simon was at least in good humor, at one time saying he was at a “loss for words.”
