Tammy Slaton Dishes On ‘1000-Lb Sisters’ Production Secrets
Although 1000-Lb Sisters is a reality television show, some elements of production are still heavily managed. Tammy Slaton and Amy Halterman are living their best lives on TV, but even they aren’t free to always do as they please.
As the current season continues, Tammy eagerly interacts with fans and addresses questions on social media. One fan recently had a new style suggestion for the TLC star, but Tammy informed her it wouldn’t be possible at that point in time. But why?

TLC still maintains a level of control over Tammy Slaton and her family
When a person signs a contract with TLC, there are several terms they must agree to. The network frequently requires cast members to sign NDAs, which prevent them from spilling too many secrets. For example, Tammy Slaton and her family members aren’t supposed to publicly disclose their weight. That’s something TLC wants to save for the show.
As a result, it also stands to reason that there are several filming secrets. Tammy opened up about one in a recent TikTok.
In a new TikTok, Tammy Slaton dished about a few filming secrets on the set of 1000-Lb Sisters. In the video, Tammy replies to a comment that reads, “You should cut your hair, it would [look] gorgeous.”
While Tammy felt appreciative of the compliment, she explained why that wasn’t currently possible.
“A lot of people don’t know this, but when you’re doing a reality show, you can’t cut your hair or color it,” the 1000-Lb Sisters star told her audience. “You’re not supposed to do any outside changes of your body. Like, I can’t get a tattoo or a nose piercing. I wasn’t even supposed to get my ears pierced.”

Once Tammy’s time with TLC ends, she might make some changes to her appearance. But in the meantime, it seems that she will need to abide by her contractual obligations.

In this week’s episode of 1000-Lb Sisters, fans will see Tammy Slaton and her family explore the sunny beaches of Florida. However, the trip doesn’t go quite according to plan.
Caleb sadly reveals he was supposed to be part of the family vacation, but was unable to leave rehab. Meanwhile, Tammy, Amy, and Amanda seem close to physical blows. Without a doubt, it’s going to be a wild episode.
