When 1000-Lb Best Friends stars aren’t busy with the show, how do they spend their time?
The TLC show mainly focuses on four friends’ weight loss journey and the challenges they face. Some of the women have struggled with significant health issues, leaving many viewers wondering how they earn money.
Although the answers still aren’t immediately clear, some Redditors came up with a few ideas online. See what they had to say.
Redditors debate how the 1000-Lb Best Friends stars earn a living
TLC viewers know that most stars have another job on the show in addition to their reality television gig. But what do the women of 1000-Lb Best Friends do?
Fans recently wondered that and debated the answer on Reddit.
“How do they live!?” a Redditor asked other viewers on the platform. “I’ve seen Tina and Meghan say they don’t make much from the show.. so how do they make money to live?! Speaking mostly about Tina and Meghan. I know Meghan sells her stuff (😬) but.. ugh. I’m [just] really curious lol.”
“I would imagine that Meghan gets disability. And both husbands work, so they have some sort of income,” one Redditor chimed in. Others brought up that Meghan said she moved in with Tina to try to alleviate some of the debt she was in.
“They both pitched various MLM garbage for a while,” someone else brought up, as is a common case with many TLC stars.
Some Redditors thought the 1000-Lb Best Friends stars would make plenty of money from the show. But others pointed out that TLC doesn’t pay as much as other networks, especially when it comes to newer shows. After all, 1000-Lb Best Friends only has two seasons.
“The TLC shows don’t pay well, especially when the series is pretty new. They only make a couple thousand per episode and there’s not a lot of episodes in a season. They are not making a lot of money,” someone else added.
The women have many different interests
Tina Arnold confirmed she is no longer involved with the show moving forward. She seemed to disagree with production and didn’t appreciate being unable to control her own narrative.
Although she hasn’t spoken much about a day job, Tina previously confirmed she is a published author.
Meanwhile, Ashely’s career has been a minor storyline on the show. She briefly discussed getting laid off, but didn’t elaborate. Breakout star Vannessa Cross also hasn’t spoken much about her professional life. But these days, it’s also entirely possible she earns money from social media. Followers really can’t get enough of her.
Sadly, it seems like fans may not see much more of the girl gang. Tina’s departure leaves many viewers believing that TLC quietly canceled the show. But time will tell what ultimately happens next.
