Is Christine Brown’s Dad The Reason Kody Isn’t Seen At Church?
Rex Allred, the father of Christine Brown seems unimpressed with Kody Brown. So, is he the reason why Kody can’t be seen going to church? If you don’t know, the Allred family was notable in the Fundamental Mormon church. The church, now known as the Apostolic United Brethren, (AUB), is a breakaway sect. And, many Sister Wives fans believe that’s the reason why Kody married her. Before marrying, Kody attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, (LDS) and they don’t condone polygamy.
Kody Brown Excommunicated By The AUB Church?
There seems to be some confusion about whether the family was excommunicated from the church or not. Paedon Brown talked about being happy he wasn’t going to church, so he didn’t have to maintain a plural family. In 2017, Radar Online wrote about the family being turfed out of the church:
Maddie Brown [tried] to get baptized in the Church on the show in 2015. But instead, she was sent a rejection letter that said her family was too public, and for her to find a home in the church, she’d have to disown them!
Additionally, the outlet claimed that an insider leaked that “Meri’s catfishing scandal was the final straw.” Now, Sister Wives fans wonder if Rex Allred was the driving decision behind that. Mind you, in the TLC Reunion, the baptism church was referred to as the “LDS.” In any event, the family stopped going to church when they moved to Las Vegas.
TLC Fans On The Role Of Rex Allred In Church Rejection
Whether an official excommunication occurred or not, it’s clear that Kody wasn’t welcome in the AUB. Therefore, some fans thought he might have dreams of grandeur and start his own church on the Coyote Pass property in Flagstaff. Well, that didn’t happen and now he’s no longer a polygamist. At the moment, TLC fans on Reddit wonder if Christine’s dad disliked his son-in-law so much that he called for them to be tossed out of the AUB.
The OP wrote;
Is Christine’s dad the reason Kody cannot show his face at their old church?
After watching the wedding special last night, I remembered a clip of Kody saying he would not be able to show his face at his church because he was too ashamed/embarrassed. With Christine being AUB royalty, do you think it was the terrible treatment of her and knowing how her dad feels about him or because 3 of his 4 wives left him and he failed at polygamy?
The Discussion About Rex Allred’s Influence
In the discussion, it turned out that a lot of people knew that the AUB chased Kody away for being too public. So, they dissed the idea of Rex Allred being worried about the way Kody Brown treated his wives.
- They were kicked out for being so public not for Kody being a shitty husband. Honestly probably that they were so public and NOT selling the cult was likely a big part of it. They were in no way propaganda for AUB because they never discussed the church or specific beliefs (most people still assume they are/were FLDS).
- It’s as simple as they made the cult look bad being so public. Do I think Christine’s dad probably didn’t like Kody treating his daughter that way? Sure. But I don’t think that has anything to do with them being kicked out.
- I’m pretty sure it was because of the show. Kodys treatment of Meri and Christine is also relatively normal within polygamist circles.
What are your thoughts? Rex Allred said that her future with David Woolley would be way better than the years she spent with Kody. Do you think he influenced the AUB when they chased the family away? Sound off in the comments below, and come back here for all your Sister Wives news.
