Max Thieriot’s Fire Country is such a success that they are already talking about a possible spinoff. The CBS action drama is based on the Seal Team alum’s experiences growing up in Northern California.

What do we know about the possible spinoff of this hit series currently entitled Sheriff Country?

Here is the latest news.

Possible Fire Country Spinoff Is Called Sheriff Country

According to TVLine, CBS is eyeing a spinoff of Max Thieriot’s successful series Fire Country. This spinoff is currently called Sheriff Country. The plan is that they will introduce a female character as a guest star. That actress, yet to be announced, would portray a sheriff.

This would be a regular episode, and the actress would be a guest star. They would be acting with the characters that fans already know and love. Therefore, should this character be successful, they will consider making that spinoff. This would meet an “uptick in ratings for that episode.”

This is why this idea is still in the development process. CBS will act on a spinoff based on the reaction of fans.

Will CBS Make More Spinoffs??

Could CBS decide to make more Fire Country spinoffs? Could this be like the NCIS universe, where the network has just announced NCIS: Origins spinoff prequel to premiere in fall 2024?

It certainly sounds like it. Fire Country was the number one watched freshman show of the 2023-2024 season. Moreover, CBS CEO George Cheeks had previously supported the idea of expanding this world. Back in June, he suggested that they would be “doubling down” on more in this world. Also, he revealed that the success of this series “completely lends itself to building out a whole new universe.2

It became very clear that not only was [Fire Country] special, it really felt like this could be a great example of us building together a franchise from scratch.

Subsequently, when he announced the Season 2 renewal, he encouraged more to the team. “‘Now let’s start talking about ideas for new extensions.'”

For those fans who wonder if there are more ideas, Cheek revealed “They’ve already come up with some great ones.” Therefore, if the proposed Sheriff Country does not work out as planned, there could be more spinoff ideas that they may try to make it work.

Most of all, they are not rushing things. Cheek wants each idea to go through a “gestation process,” with the ultimate goal to “get it right.” That could mean several years. Also, it could mean that one of these series could end up on Paramount+.
