Viewers watched Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist fall in love quickly on the inaugural season of The Golden Bachelor. In just nine episodes, Gerry went from twenty-two potential love interests to just one.
In the two-hour season finale that aired on November 30, he broke up with runner-up Leslie Fhima and proposed to Theresa Nist. They revealed that their wedding would air live on ABC just five weeks later.
Between wedding planning, the couple found time to relax in New York City ahead of the iconic New Year’s Eve ball drop.
Gerry Turner Introduces Theresa Nist To Special Family Member
With their Golden Wedding behind them, Theresa Nist and Gerry Turner are ready to return to normal life. That includes settling on where to live. While the two originally planned to move to South Carolina, Gerry may have fallen in love with New Jersey after visiting Theresa and her family there.
He took to his Instagram this week to share that he was in Indiana to get a beloved family member to bring to New Jersey. As viewers saw, most of Gerry Turner’s family had already met Theresa, except for one.
His dog Cody will travel with Gerry back to New Jersey to meet his new dog mom. “Heading to Jersey tomorrow. I had to come to Indiana to get my four legged best buddy!!! Theresa is anxious to meet Cody and add a pet to her life.”
Theresa’s daughter commented on the post, “Scooter (and the rest of us) can’t wait.” Scooter is the name of her family dog.
Another follower added, “He’s adorable! Theresa will love him!”

However, many Bachelor Nation fans couldn’t believe that Gerry didn’t introduce his Goldendoodle to Theresa before marrying her.
