It is a perfect time for families to come together and celebrate during the holiday season. Notably, it is no different for The Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner and his family. Even so, there are some complicated decisions the newly engaged couple, Gerry and Theresa Nist, made during this first Christmas together. However, on Christmas Eve, Gerry shared his family’s photo, but quickly fans noticed that Theresa was omitted.

With all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it is hard to coordinate with any family, especially for the soon-to-be combined family of Golden Bachelor couple, Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist. Both Gerry and Theresa have children and grandchildren in different states. So as the holiday approached, they had to make some complicated decisions together about what an integrated family looked like to them. Additionally, the family has many considerations with the quickly approaching Golden Wedding next week.

In an Instagram post on December 24, Gerry Turner shared a post of his family. Then he captioned it, “‘ Twas the night before Christmas……” But fans were quick to notice that fiance, Theresa Nist, was not in the photo. Additionally, several people commented on the matter:
- “Why isn’t Teresa in any of your holiday photos?”
- Then one person added, “I saw in Theresa’s post that they decided to celebrate Christmas separately with their families.” To which some people replied, “interesting.”
- Several questioned “why” or left judgemental, “hmmmmms” in reply.
- “Is all well with Gerry??… no Theresa?”
- “Wow! Didn’t know they were apart, maybe together for new years. Making last minute wedding arrangements?”

Although the soon-to-be-married Golden Bachelor couple have close families, they were torn on what the first Christmas together would look like. While some were supportive of Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist’s decision to be separate, others weren’t.
- While a supportive comment came in, “It’s much better that way.” And someone else says, “As they should 😂.”
- But another questioned the decision, “As a newly engaged couple, that’s surprising.”
- Then, one commenter came to the defense of Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist, “Apparently you’ve never been in the position of having established families. You have to have some give-and-take, and they are doing exactly what they need to do. Don’t be so judgmental if you’ve never walked in their shoes…….”
- Referencing the scandal, one person says, “She’s too busy putting together a prenup… as she should be.”
- “Everyone who questions why they are not together, may not understand, they both have children and grandchildren and live in different states. Just bc they chose to spend this Christmas with their families, doesn’t mean they don’t love each other. Merry Christmas to you and your family Gerry!”
