Derek Hough Hosts Christmas Parade, Will Hayley Hough Attend?
Julianne and Derek Hough will host the Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade this year and fans can’t wait. However, many are concerned about the family’s delicate situation at the moment.
Derek’s wife Hayley just went through a second skull surgery after suffering a cranial hematoma on December 6. As far as fans know, he’s been with her at the hospital in Washington, D.C. while she recovers.

Derek Hough certainly has a lot on his plate at the moment
Julianne Hough recently shared on Instagram that she’s going to hold her family members tighter this holiday season, and for good reason. The family was incredibly shocked and worried about Hayley Erbert Hough as she went in for her emergency craniectomy.
Thankfully, Hayley is recovering well. But what will the family do about the Christmas parade?

According to PEOPLE, the entire parade was pretaped back in early November, well before Hayley’s medical emergency. Derek and Julianne Hough hosted the parade without issue or worry at the time.
PEOPLE notes that it’s not immediately clear if Hayley will appear in the special or not. She often accompanies Derek with his work projects, so it’s within reason that she could. She was performing with him on the Symphony of Dance tour when she became disoriented and required immediate medical attention.
Since the show was pretaped, Derek Hough can stay with his wife and care for her without worry.
What else can fans expect from the Christmas parade?
Without a doubt, there will be a fun performance from the Hough siblings. But they won’t be the only famous acts performing.
As per a press release, “Ariana DeBose, Chrissy Metz, The Smashing Pumpkins, Iam Tongi, Meg Donnelly, Michael Bolton, and the Broadway and North American Tour cast of Disney’s Aladdin” will also perform during the special.
Hayley Erbert Hough is on the road to recovery, even though this definitely isn’t the way the family envisioned the holiday season this year. Hopefully by Christmas of 2024, this will all be behind them and they can move forward with their lives.
