Pat Sajak Confronts Paula Abdul On ‘Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune’

Pat Sajak and Paula Abdul, Celebrity Wheel of Fortune

During Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune, Pat Sajak confronts Paula Abdul multiple times during her appearance on the show. She took the stage with Lil Rel Howery and Matt Rogers to face off for the winnings, but Pat didn’t let some of her behaviors slide.

Pat Sajak Takes A Jab At Paula Abdul

On the December 13 episode of Celebrity Wheel Of FortunePat Sajak opened with the introductions of the three contestants, Paula Abdul, Matt Rogers, and Lil Rel Howery. While talking about Paula, Pat Sajak couldn’t resist bringing up a touchy subject. Leading in, Pat says, “Paula Abdul is here!” Unsuspiciously, he says, “Let’s do the awards; you’ve won yourself a couple of Grammys right? A couple of Emmys.” But then lands the unsuspecting punch, “No Tonys?” Seemingly shocked, Paula says, “Not yet!” And then she impulsively fires a leg kick out to the side at his comment on the elusive EGOT. Then she regains her composure and slides into a pose sticking her lips out slightly for the cameras. Then chuckling, he refocuses on the audience, saying, “By the way, the most impressive thing you’ll see in the next hour is Paula’s leg kicks.” Pausing then adding, “It really is – uh – frightening.”

Pat Sajak Calls Out Paula Abdul’s Behavior

But later in the show, Paula Abdul gets a bit flustered during her turn. Then Pat Sajak confronts the situation. In the “Before and After” phrase, Paula says, “It’s the last word and I’m having …” Pat interjects bluntly, “If you don’t know the last word, then why would you try to solve it?” Nodding her head, Paulas answers, “I’d rather spin.” Agreeing, Matt Rogers scrunched his face and shook his head as well with a look that almost audibly said, “You get it, girl.” But as she spun, everyone took a huge breath as the pin nearly missed the “Bankruptcy” wedge and landed on $600.

Then she guesses “C” but it doesn’t add much to the perplexing phrase. Mouthing the words to herself slightly panicked, Paula Abdul struggled when she reached that last word. Then she slowly answers aloud, “The good …,” which was tracking, “the bad…” Pausing slightly, “And the ugly …” Then emphatically unable to coherently finish her guess, she lets out an excruciating sound for the last word, “Mnhrahhhrrr!!!!” Pat Sajak just lowers his head and says, “Ah, that is incorrect.”

What Fans Thought

After Paula Abdul’s explosive response, fans lit up social media with their thoughts. One person posted on Reddit captioning: “Paula Abdul loses it while playing Wheel of Fortune Holiday Edition.” Then they attached a video of her interaction with Pat Sajak. But other fans added their thoughts as well:

  • One points out, “We know it’s not “Mnhrahhhrrr” cuz the H is already out there. This is simple Wheel of Fortune strategy.”
  • “The N too, but I think she was just saying Mmrarr, as her best impression of MC Skat Kat seeing and attacking an ugly Christmas sweater.”
  • One fan suggests a spinoff possibly before Pat Sajak leaves, “SNL needs to start making Celebrity Wheel skits like the Celebrity Jeopardy skits.”
  • Someone clarifies, “It’s holiday time. When people wear some holiday clothing. One of the more ridiculed and laughed at? The… Holiday Sweater.

THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY SWEATER! She should’ve gotten that… except, maybe she’s living in Miami where people don’t wear sweaters much.”

  • One poked fun at Paula, “I mean, she is high as a kite, so…” In response, someone adds, “I’m sober and couldn’t get it. I’ve personally never heard this phrase before so I doubt I would have got it.” Also in reply, someone says, “I’m sober and kept shouting out SEATTLE! So I was way off..”
