‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Pat Sajak Stunned By Contestant’s Guess
After longtime Wheel Of Fortune host, Pat Sajak announced his imminent retirement plans, fans have been soaking up the final months of his tenure. But with each passing episode, they notice small Pat-isms that make the show extra lovable. Undoubtedly, he brings charisma and ease to the long-running show. However, not everyone feels that way. Even so, every once in a while, some contestants can catch the experienced host off guard. In a recent episode, Pat takes a surprising answer in stride, but he is thrown for a loop by the competitor.
Pat Sajak Questions His Hearing
Since Pat told Wheel Of Fortune fans his plan to retire, there has been an unspoken sadness in the idea of his last day creeping closer with each episode, especially from his counterpart, Vanna White. However, everyone is making the best of a very understandable situation. And Pat is showing up to each episode ready to execute each show as normal. But in the latest episode, Pat, 77, had a moment of questioning his hearing after one contestant threw him a curve ball. On the December 12 episode of Wheel Of Fortune, contender, Gishma Tabari, takes her best shot at solving a partially complete puzzle. However, her answer falls short.
Pat Sajak Is Stunned By The Answer
In the triple toss-up puzzles, the category “Show Biz” appears and immediately starts to populate the letters. When the puzzle read: “TH_’ _RITI_S’ ‘_GR_E,’ Gishma eagerly tries to solve it. Impulsively, she says, “The British Ogre.” Then Pat, questioning what he heard, says, “Say again?” After she repeated the same answer, he was stunned but simply responded, “Ah no, sorry. Anybody else?” Embarrassed, Gishma diverts her eyes and quickly says, “Sorry.” Following that, her competitor, Laura offered the correct answer, “The Critics Agree.”

While no one truly knows what Gishma was thinking, perhaps she had the notorious Shrek in mind. Undoubtedly, he speaks with a Scottish accent, but she could have him confused as a “British Ogre.” Nonetheless, it was entertaining for fans. And Pat masterfully used his calm, cool reaction to move past the shock and awe of the moment.
