Whoopi Called Out By ‘The View’ Co-Host While ‘Stealing’ From Set
Whoopi Goldberg found herself in hot water during The View when she attempted to ‘steal’ an item from the set. What was it, and why?
Another week, and more antics from Whoopi on the set of The View. During an episode focused on hot children’s toys for the season, she took a liking to one particular item on the set and was quickly called out by her co-host for her antics. It was all fun and games, though, based on the reactions of everyone around her.
The View Brings a Look at Christmas Toys for 2023
The segment on the show itself focused on the hottest toys of the year. After all, some parents are still looking for inspiration, or maybe they just want to know if they got the perfect gift for their children. Elizabeth Werner, a toy expert, shared the latest toys and gifts for children at Target. One of the best things about the segment is that all the gifts were priced at $25 or less, as reported by The Sun. Parents struggling with the rising cost of living and inflation will appreciate The View for doing this.

The first toy on show was a Santa kindness ornament. This cute ornament encourages children to do one act of kindness each day, getting children into the spirit of the season. That wasn’t the one that caught Goldberg’s eye, though. It was the second item that had her interested. Sure enough, this is probably the one that has most children interested this season.
What Did Whoopi Goldberg Take from The View Set?
The second toy was a 3D digital pet. With the reintroduction of Tamagotchis and Furbies, it’s probably not surprising that another digital pet is all the rage for children right now. This one was the Bitzee, which children can feed and look after on a daily basis. It is a great way to teach children about pet ownership, and it’s so much better than getting a puppy for Christmas!
As Werner moved on to the next gift, the 68-year-old actress picked up a toy and put it in her pocket. The move did not go unnoticed. Goldberg’s The View co-host, Sara Haines, playfully hit her on the shoulder to make it clear she noticed. When a noise sounded, Werner looked down and noted that there was a Bitzee on the floor. Haines quickly grabbed the toy before Goldberg could, but she did give it back to her. That was when Goldberg put the toy back on the table, making it clear that it was all a joke.
Haines told Goldberg, “When you try to walk off with things, Whoopi, sometimes we drop them.” The toy expert joined in with the fun commenting how Whoopi didn’t quite get the toy in her pocket. It was a bit of fun, but Werner was able to keep the focus on the toys after that and finish up her segment.
