What Is Bachelor Star Accused Of?
Clayton Echard starred in Season 26 of ABC’s popular Bachelor franchise. The former pro football player found love with Susie Evans. They broke up at the end of the season but reunited after filming.
Evans and Echard dated for about six months before ending their relationship. The two are still friends.
Shocking news broke earlier this summer that Clayton Echard was being sued for paternity. An anonymous woman claimed that she got pregnant with twins after a one-night-stand with the reality star.

On orders of the court, both Clayton Echard and the anonymous woman were tested to determine paternity. According to Echard, the tests proved that he’s not the father.
However, the woman insists that he was incorrectly informed by the lab technician, and the results were inconclusive.
Susie Evans believes Echard’s side of the story. Gabby Windey, one of the runners-up on Season 26, thinks he could have handled the situation better.
Clayton Echard’s Accuser Reveals Identity In Essay
Despite her wish to remain anonymous, the name of Clayton Echard’s accuser has been floating around the internet since she filed the lawsuit.
Additionally, videos of the court sessions found their way online after Bachelor Nation fans joined the livestream of the proceedings.
In a essay for Medium, the woman at the center of the paternity suit took her name and face from the corners of Reddit into the mainstream.
Her name is Laura Owens, and she shared more of her side of the story of how she came to know Clayton Echard. She claimed “Clayton had briefly been my real estate agent, and during a May evening, our professional dealings turned into something more personal,” she wrote.
While the media agreed to keep her identity anonymous, their descriptions of her were enough for her identity to be outed.
Shortly after the news broke, Clayton Echard claimed on social media that the woman suing him had sued other men with similar claims.
Accuser Says Others Jumped On
Laura Owens went on to name two people at the center of her alleged online harassment she received: Bachelor bloggers Dave Neal and Reality Steve, both of whom have supported Clayton Echard throughout the legal battle.
According to Owens, Neal has created hours of YouTube content about the lawsuit. She details alleged online bullying she’s received, including comments about her looks and death wishes.
A Glimpse Into The Courtroom
The court proceedings are public record, including livestreams. Several Bachelor Nation fans have screen-recorded footage from the courtroom and posted it on social media.
One recent Reddit thread has footage from the October 24 court appearance. Despite her visible baby bump, there has been speculation online that Laura Owens isn’t even pregnant.

She needs help- like SERIOUS HELP. She has not proven she is pregnant- which is the easiest thing is the world to prove. She is an extremely litigious person. Look up all the lawsuits she has brought. She has wealthy parents who enable her behavior. It’s really sad.
SO GLAD that her BS was called to light. And interesting how an entire article was written in support of her yet the fact that she dropped her spurious claim will likely not garner a mention. SHE is the problem. Not Clayton. Not Dave Neal. Not Reality Steve. LAURA OWENS is the problem.
I am terrified for this woman’s health. There is no way a woman pregnant with twins has be “little to no” fetal DNA observed in three separate tests. I am shocked no doctor has referred her to an oncologist, she may have a tumor in her stomach!
Her side of the story was written entirely to paint herself as a victim again. This woman has consistently tried to control the narrative, from her posts on Medium and reddit, to her reporting comments that dont fit her side of the story, to her threatening to sue anyone who publicly questions her made up “evidence.” Anyone who digs a bit deeper will know the truth. I have been following this for months. She is clearly mentally ill. She made a fatal mistake by threatening CE that she would go public if he didn’t respond to her emails proposing a “relationship with intention for 1 week” in exchange for getting an abortion if Clayton asked her. He told her no way; she went public; and all the “harassment” is people talking about a now public matter. The truth will come out whether or not she is actually pregnant…no one is going to forget to follow up. I do feel bad for her because she made a rash decision that backfired in a spectacular fashion. But also I don’t feel bad for her because it’s karmic justice.
