Susie Evans is no longer dating Bachelor Clayton Echard, but that doesn’t stop her from defending her ex over paternity allegations. Keep reading to find out why she believed his side of the story immediately and how his mental health is now.

Clayton Echard Denies Paternity Of Twins

Clayton Echard’s drama-filled season of The Bachelor is nothing compared to his real life over the past few months. Like something out of a soap opera, a one-night stand ended with an allegation of paternity.

The former college football player denies fathering twins with an anonymous woman he had a fling with earlier in the year. She sued him to force a paternity test, and they are currently locked in legal battle.

In October, he claimed victory over the paternity suit, claiming the DNA tests found that he wasn’t the father. However, the woman refutes his claims, and the lawsuit continues.

Susie Evans Defends Clayton Echard Over Paternity Allegations

Susie Evans and Clayton Echard broke up over a year ago. But that wasn’t their first break up. Evans turned down Echard’s rose in the season finale, but they revealed during the After the Final Rose special that they had reconnected after filming and were giving their relationship another go.

Despite being exes, Echard and Evans remain friends. Bachelor Nation fans speculated that she helped fund his defense for the court case, but she only recently broke her silence about the paternity allegations.

She shared more of her thoughts in a new interview with the US Sun. Evans called the paternity lawsuit “unfortunate.”

Despite not knowing the specific details of what happened between the woman and Echard, Susie Evans is standing by her ex. He revealed some details in court documents, claiming that the fling didn’t go beyond oral.

She confessed to curiosity but believed her ex’s side of the story. “Based on what I’ve been told from Clayton and then also what I’ve seen kind of publicly, I think it would be really hard to believe at this point that there’s any reason to believe that he’s the father,” she told the Sun.

Evans reiterated her previous comments about Echard being an honest person. “I’ve always known Clayton to be a very honest human being,” Susie Evans said about her ex-boyfriend.

It seems her main concern is Clayton Echard’s well-being and not whether he fathered the woman’s twin babies.

How Is Echard’s Mental Health?

Since his time on the ABC dating show, Clayton Echard has been open about his mental health struggles. He often uses his Instagram as a platform to promote mental health awareness.

Susie Evans admitted that she was “worried” about Echard’s mental health amid the media frenzy caused by the lawsuit. “I reached out to him to make sure he was doing okay,” Evans said.
