Alana Thompson Breaks Silence On Sister Anna’s Death

Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson is breaking her silence on the death of her oldest sister, Anna Cardwell. She passed away at the age of 29 on the evening of December 9th. So, what does Alana have to say about the heartbreaking situation? Read on for more details.

Alana Thompson Breaks Silence On Sister Anna’s Death

It was a hard season finale of Family Crisis when Anna Cardwell broke the news that she had stage 4 adrenal carcinoma. The episode started out so hopeful with Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson getting into college. Then, everyone gathered in Florida for Mama June’s vow renewal to Justin Stroud. Unfortunately, the happiness was short-lived when Anna made the call to Pumpkin and Alana to share her diagnosis. She had surgery earlier in the season but no one could have predicted this to be the outcome. Then, one Friday, December 8th, Anna’s family started to ask for prayers and it was looking grave.

They finally announced that she had passed earlier on December 10th and Alana posted a tribute to her sister on her Instagram. As with most of the family, they are using a group photo where everyone is smiling and happy. In the caption, Alana wrote how hard it was to even put down that Anna had passed away. She knew how much pain her sister was in and now, she is no longer feeling that. More so, she noted that Anna has always been a fighter this entire time. Yet, she was immensely grateful her sister did not pass away until she got home from Colorado.

It was questionable if Alana Thompson would make it back as she could not be there for the final family trip. She had school obligations so she did not come along. However, she was able to be there to say goodbye to her sister. Additionally, Alana took the time to make a TikTok about her sister’s final moments and her last request. She is devastated that Anna won’t get to see her graduate but happy that she knows she finished her first semester at college.

What’s Next?

Right now, the family is taking the time that they need to grieve. They have all spoken out about the passing of Anna Cardwell and are completely devastated. Alana Thompson is with her family and Anna’s two daughters, who will be set up for their future, per Mama June. Thankfully, Alana was able to get home, unfortunately, the circumstances were absolutely tragic.
