Sam Wilson Opens Up About Drug Addiction On 90 Day Fiance

During Season 10, Episode 10 of 90 Day Fiance, Sam opened up about his recent drug charges. In the episode, titled “For Better Or For Worse,” he spoke about some of his past struggles with opiates.

“Around 22, I started seeing a Suboxone doctor. Suboxone — it’s still kind of like an opiate. It keeps you from getting sick going through withdrawals,” he said. The 90 Day Fiance star went on to say that during a business trip, he was pulled over. Due to his Suboxone not being in a prescription pill bottle, they arrested Sam.

“The judge offered me a diversion program. It’s a program you could do for one to several years. Like, you take tests to show you’re not on drugs and take drug classes,” he explained. “And you avoid jail time, as long as you, like, do everything properly.”

Unfortunately, Sam Wilson did not hold his end of the bargain with the courts. He missed his deadline to apply for the diversion program. Because of this, he could be facing jail time.

Then, he revealed to 90 Day Fiance viewers that his fiance, Citra, knew about the arrest and his drug addiction. However, she did not know that missing the deadline to apply for the program could mean jail time for Sam.

Looking at the camera, he said that he wanted to wait until Citra was there before he told her. “I’m worried that if I tell her before, she might not even come,” Sam said.

What Are Sam Wilson’s Charges?

Records show that Sam Wilson was arrested on March 27, 2023. Charges included felony possession of cocaine, felony possession of buprenorphine (Suboxone), and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. The 90 Day Fiance star was able to post his $2,500 bond and was released the next day.

In June, records were updated to indicate that Sam Wilson intended to apply for a diversion program, and the felony cocaine charge was dismissed. On October 10, the diversion was granted and records showed that the court was waiting for signatures to finalize everything.

The woman he was with was also released the next day on a $1,500 bond. She is expected to appear in court later this month.

Right now, the next court hearing for Sam Wilson’s case is set for January 26.
