Sam also revealed that he wasn’t attached to Citra at first, though he already finds her beautiful. The 90 Day Fiance stars met in Indonesia after two years.
The man from Missouri was struggling with money and had to sleep in a car due to his double-shift jobs. He’s an online retailer where he handles the stocks of certain stores. And with Citra finally coming to the US with a K-1 visa, he wants to prove that he’s a worthy man, not just for her but also for her family.
Sam’s Big Secret
Sam’s introduction clip surprised a lot of fans. According to the 90 Day Fiance star, he has a very dark past as he got addicted to pain medicine, specifically opiates. He began to use drugs at the age of 15 and stayed addicted for a few years. The TLC star also added that opiates turned him into a cold and numb person, which led to many years of staying single.

Despite Citra accepting his past, Sam is still concerned about their future. He worries that his fiance might tell her father, Hernan, who’s a police officer, about his past. The 90 Day Fiance star also added that the fear of her dad played a big role in why he still hasn’t been intimate with her.
Furthermore, he should make Hernan see his sincerity toward his daughter and their faith when he arrives in the U.S. It’s clear to see that the pressure is on him. But it seems he’s willing to prove himself worthy.
