‘Today’ Al Roker Missing From The Studio: Why?

Sadly, The Today Show Al Roker was missing from the studio during a recent episode. That, however, didn’t mean he was missing from the show completely. Instead, he phoned in his weather report via video call. Why exactly was Al Roker missing from The Today Show studio today? Keep reading for the explanation.

Al Roker Missing From The Studio: Why?

Craig Melvin, Savannah Guthrie, and Hoda Kotb were all present and accounted for during today’s episode of The Today Show. While sitting at their desks welcoming Al Roker in to give his weather report, it was revealed that the weatherman was missing. He wasn’t at the studio. And, he was being patched in via video to give his weather report.

“Al joins us for the weather,” Hoda introduced before giving the weatherman the floor. The show switched over to Al Roker who was in Washington DC giving his weather report from there.

The 69-year-old weatherman donned a long-sleeved purple sweater paired with a tie and some dark jeans. He proceeded to complete his weather report as he normally would, just not at the studio.

Craig Melvin Explains

During the third hour of The Today Show, Craig Melvin sat down with Dylan Dreyer and Sheinelle Jones. Craig kicked things off by answering what viewers wanted to know. Where was Al Roker?

Mr. Roker is on his way back from D.C. as we speak.”

Outside of his weather report, Al Roker didn’t make any other appearances on the show. And, Craig revealed it was simply because he was traveling back from D.C. right now.

Unfortunately, Craig neglected to offer any additional details on why Al Roker took a trip to Washington D.C. in the first place.

Will He Be On Tomorrow’s Show?

The big question fans have at this point is simple: Will Al Roker be on the show tomorrow? Craig Melvin hinted that Al Roker was actively traveling back home while they were on air. He, however, didn’t dish any details on how long his travels would be or when he was expected to return home.

If Al can make it home tonight, it is safe to assume he will be on tomorrow’s episode of The Today Show. If his travels extend to tomorrow,, he will likely be missing from tomorrow’s episode as well.

Overall, fans of The Today Show were bummed they did not get to see more of the weatherman. They, however, were relieved to learn his health was not the reason he was missing.
