Nayte Olukoya and Michelle Young met and fell in love during the 18th season of The Bachelorette. The two even planned to buy a house together in Minnesota with the money ABC gifted them after their engagement.
However, the couple broke up six months after the season finale aired in December 2021. Since that time, Nayke Olukoya has kept mostly silent about his relationship with Michelle Young and his time in the Bachelor franchise.
But he’s broken his silence with an extended interview with blogger Dave Neal for Neal’s YouTube show. No topic was left uncovered during the nearly-hour chat.
The contestants on Bachelor Nation shows often form friendships that last longer than the romantic relationships. Neal asked Olukoya who he is still close with from the franchise. The TV personality name-dropped Rodney Mathews, Justin Glaze, and a few others.
However, there’s one alum who definitely isn’t on his friend’s list. The blogger casually asked Nayte Olukoya if he’s ever been on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s Off the Vine podcast, and the answer was a resounding no.
In fact, Olukoya said several times that Bristowe doesn’t like him, but he doesn’t blame her for it. Kaitlyn Bristowe and Tayshia Adams were the hosts for Season 18 and formed a close friendship with Michelle Young.
The Bachelor Nation alum isn’t surprised that Bristowe took Young’s side in the split, nor does he “fault” her for it.
The Internet ‘Clowned’ Him After Failed Engagement
Nayte Olukoya hasn’t spoken too much about the circumstances surrounding his relationship with Michelle Young before but shared new details during his interview with Dave Neal.
Shortly before the split, rumors circulated on the internet that Olukoya had stepped out on his fiance. Though reality stars are advised not to address rumors, Olokoya took to his Instagram to defend himself.
He addressed the cheating rumors again in the interview, explaining that one of the women he was photographed with was his best friend’s fiance, and the others were friends of Michelle Young’s.
According to Nayte Olukoya, his relationship with Michelle Young was “rocky” from start to finish.

Nayte Olukoya has briefly addressed how difficult the split was for him due to social media hate. He told Dave Neal that the internet “clowned” him amid the cheating rumors, and it took a long time to learn to ignore online trolls.
Nayte Olukoya Reveals New Relationship After Michelle Young Split
Michelle Young recently went Instagram official with a new man. The internet’s reaction to his split with Young is why Nayte Olukoya hasn’t shared photos with his new lady on social media. He told Dave Neal that they met “in a bar,” and she didn’t know his reality TV past.
Olukoya shared with Neal that people always comment on how quiet he is in person. Despite his shyness, he admitted to making the first move when he saw the woman at the bar.
However, he clarified that they didn’t go home together because “I don’t do that.”
He didn’t reveal much more about his new girlfriend except that they’ve been together “for a while.”
