Below Deck Med Season 8 brought a boatload of problems for Captian Sandy Yawn, and Kyle Viljoen got his fair share of criticism from Bravo fans. Actually, even Tumi Mhlongo got irritated and cursed at him. Fans want him fired, and now that the season plays out, he’s pouring out his heart. He’s giving his version of events while asking people to help him with his TV career.

Captain Sandy Yawn is not impressed with the behavior of Frank Fray’s former lover. Some people felt a bit sorry for him when he collapsed after tidying up after the guests. Tumi Mhlogo panicked and rushed off to get help after she underestimated his declaration of illness. However, many Bravo fans hate seeing that he seems arrogant, lazy, and annoying this season.

Kyle Viljoen is skating on thin ice, but so is Tumi and the crew seems to be very divided and hostile. Natalya Scudder also got some frowns from the captain as the two crew members battled it out. Tumi got a dressing down about leadership, and then Tumi made the mistake of speaking to Kyle about Natalya. He told Natalya that she might get fired, which didn’t help. So, she left.

Like anyone else, he’s aware that reality shows can trigger emotions in people. However, he’s human. In part, he wrote:

I want to remind people I am a  human being with very real emotions and a heart like you all….Its a show and its a movie and it shod (sic) not involve you or affect you iun any way.”

The Below Deck Mediterranean crew member struggles with both living through the scenes now playing out, and rewatching them. So, he finds things very difficult. Certainly, his mental health does not sound all that good.

Kyle Viljoen talked about the rare disease that set him back. Therapy was interrupted by his illness. Additionally, it hurt that so many people just trolled a potentially life-threatening illness with “karma” comments.

Calls For Support

Kyle Viljoen said in the last two slides, that he’s “had it all.” However, there are a lot more controversial things coming this season. Already, he feels “exhausted,” because of trying to explain things. On top of that, he deals with the mental stress from his experience at the sea. Bear in mind, he also feels a lot of “self hate.”
