Dancing With The Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba is absolutely fed up with unfair standards in the fashion industry.

The 55-year-old judge is known for her fun and unique looks in the ballroom. However, she recently admitted that it takes a very special group of people to bring the entire look together.

To push the envelope a bit further, Carrie Ann called out the fashion industry altogether. She’s using her platform to shine a light on unfair beauty standards and her followers love it. See what she had to say.

Carrie Ann Inaba felt snubbed by designers in the past

Dancing With The Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba is reflecting on her wardrobe from this week’s episode. Although she felt beautiful, she also shared her true feelings about the fashion and design industry.

“Thank you to my team and the designers who have helped me and keep me in DWTS MODE,” Carrie Ann shared with her social media followers. “And, for all of you who look at social media and think this is how we actually live, let me share this: To get ready for a show. It takes me hours of hair and make up and getting dressed. We do fittings and we have gowns tailored, and there is so much you don’t see. It’s fun… but it’s not day to day life.”

The judge added that some designers generously shared accessories with her. However, she bought her dress. According to Carrie Ann, designers have never been eager to loan her dresses at any stage in her career.

“I’m not ‘at their level.’ I always wondered if it’s because I’m a size 6-8 or maybe because I’m an Asian American. Or maybe because I work in alternative programming or #reality television,” she added. “As if what I do is less valuable than an actor or any other person in this business. Sometimes, it hurts my feelings. But ultimately, I know my value and I have a great team who still gets me show ready no matter what circumstances surround me. I’m grateful for that, and to the designers that HAVE given me gowns to wear in the past.”

“Not all of us are accepted as #designerworthy. Why is fashion still exclusionary? I wonder how many of them have worked as consistently in this business as I have?” Carrie Ann continued. She concluded the post by letting her audience members know that they are perfect exactly as they are, no matter what their size or background.
