It’s Official: The ‘Dance Moms’ Reunion Is Coming In 2024
On November 1st, the Lifetime network and the official Dance Moms Instagram account announced the Dance Moms reunion special.
For eight seasons, Dance Moms filled our screens with laughter, tears, and, of course, drama that made us all eager to tune in each week. The show has been off the air since 2019, but the drama has continued. In 2022, Maddie Ziegler brought accusations against the show and her former dance teacher, Abby Lee Miller.
Who’s Coming Back for the Dance Moms Reunion?
So far, we know that six original cast members will return for the special. JoJo Siwa, Paige Hyland, Brooke Hyland, Kendall Vertes, Kalani Hilliker, and Chloé Lukasiak are excited to share the stage again. As for whether or not other members will return, we will have to wait and see. JoJo Siwa commented on the Instagram announcement that everyone from the original show was invited, but only a few chose to be there.
Although the girls are all grown up now, Dance Moms wouldn’t have been the phenomenon that it was without the moms. Like their daughters, some of the moms still spend time together. In fact, in 2020, Melissa Gisoni, Holly Hatcher-Frazier, Kelly Hyland, and Jill Vertes even launched a podcast called Because Mom Said So. It would be interesting to hear what these women say about their participation in the Dance Moms series.
Of course, the question on everyone’s mind is whether or not Abby Lee Miller will make an appearance. This issue of her participation leaves fans divided. Some feel that the reunion would be incomplete without the dance teacher’s presence, while others feel that she abused the girls while the show was airing and should keep her distance. Lifetime cut ties with Miller in 2020 following allegations of racism by Adriana Smith. Smith’s daughter, Kamryn Smith, appeared in Dance Moms: Resurrection. Miller later issued an apology, but whether that was enough for the network to become affiliated with her again is unclear.
What Else Do We Know About the Special?
At this time, we know that the Dance Moms reunion will air on Lifetime sometime in 2024, but an exact date hasn’t been released yet. It’s also unclear as to whether or not the special will be available on any streaming services.
Six original cast members have confirmed that they will be participating in the reunion. So far, the other girls haven’t released official comments stating that they won’t be joining their former cast mates. Until they do, we can hold out hope for an expanded cast.
Are you excited to see the original cast members of Dance Moms together again? Should Abby Lee Miller be allowed to join the reunion? Share your thoughts in the comments!
