JoJo Siwa from The Ellen Show

Many Dancing With The Stars fans fully expected JoJo Siwa and Jenna Johnson to take home the Mirrorball Trophy in Season 30. The championship went to Daniella Karagach and Iman Shumpert instead, but JoJo and Jenna took second place.

Season 30 happened nearly a year ago, but it was such a positive experience that JoJo Siwa still thinks of it fondly. In fact, there’s one ritual that she does even today. Keep reading to learn more.

JoJo Siwa thinks of her partner Jenna before doing something big

JoJo Siwa and Jenna Johnson made DWTS history together as the first same-sex partners on the show. And on top of that, they were absolutely phenomenal. The women really connected behind the scenes and forged a strong friendship that still continues to this day.

Now, JoJo has her own Facebook series entitled JoJo Goes. In a recent episode, JoJo told her girlfriend Kylie about a pre-performance mantra that Jenna shared with her.

“Jenna and I would always say, ‘We’re prepared, we’re excited and we have each other’ every time we danced,” JoJo recalled. “I kept that with me. Now, obviously, I don’t have Jen with me — I’m doing stuff like this by myself — and so right before I do something like this, I say, ‘I’m prepared, I’m excited and I have myself.'”

The 19-year-old went on to say that she doesn’t get nervous when she thinks about the mantra.

“I learned if I get nervous I don’t enjoy it,” JoJo continued. “I just have to enjoy it, so that my memories are having fun and enjoying it versus being nervous.”

Jenna Johnson recently shared some major news

Jenna Johnson actually won’t be coming back to DWTS this fall, despite previously teasing that it was “her year.” She and her husband Val Chmerkovskiy are expecting a baby together so she’s taking the season off.

“We got home [from a trip to Cabo] and about two weeks later I was like, ‘Wait a minute, my boobs are feeling very big and very sore. I haven’t started my period yet.’ So I peed on a stick and immediately it just turned positive,” the 28-year-old dancer told PEOPLE. “The shock and just disbelief was insane. I couldn’t believe it because it wasn’t an easy journey for us to get pregnant.”

Without a doubt, JoJo will be there to dote on the new baby when it finally arrives. There’s definitely a lot of love shared between the two women, even though they aren’t dance partners any longer.
