16 & Pregnant Star Leaves Prison Early, Details
It is not easy to be a teen parent especially when it is filmed for all of the world to see. Back in Season 2 of the hit MTV reality series, 16 & Pregnant, Lori Wickelhaus shared her story. This was thirteen years ago and like Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra, she opted for adoption. After that was over, she went to a transitional program which seemed to be her saving grace. Lori shared this: “Before I got here, I was on a downward spiral. I had no dreams. I didn’t have any goals, I didn’t care what happened day-to-day.” Admittedly, she was not up for much of anything, especially after the adoption.
This renewed her and she went on to have two more children, a son and a daughter with ex-fiance, Joseph Amos. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse in 2020 when she was arrested for 20 counts of child sex abuse materials (CSAM). After a guilty plea, Wickelhaus was sentenced to nearly seven years behind bars. Her release date was set for December 2027. However, according to The Sun, she came up for parole in 2022. In October 2023, the first hearing did not happen but her early parole did go through.

Once the former 16 & Pregnant star is released, these are the terms and conditions Lori must follow: “Kentucky requires that every inmate that is released from prison undergo post-release supervision to ensure that the inmate has the necessary monitoring and/or support in the community.” So, she is now officially free after spending a little over two years locked up. Lori made her exit on Wednesday, November 1st and it is unclear what contact she will have with her minor children after this incident.
Other Cast Struggles
Lori Wickelhaus is not the only 16 & Pregnant star who has been locked up and faced legal problems. Ryan Edwards was supposed to be in jail for a year but ended up in rehab which transitioned to a halfway house. Additionally, Amber Portwood spent time behind bars but has since tried to get her life back together. Then, there’s Jenelle Evans who is currently in a CPS mess as her son, Jace ran away three times in less than two months. Her husband, David Eason is not in the hot seat but Jenelle is refuting all charges and allegations. It has not been easy for the cast but hopefully, this is a fresh start for Lori.
