Brandon Jones Speaks Out After Serene Confirmed Cheating
Bachelor in Paradise couple Brandon Jones and Serene Russell announced in May they ended their engagement. Fans were shocked as they thought these two would make it long-term. They didn’t. Right after they split, rumors began circulating along with a video indicating that he perhaps had cheated on Serene. He denied it and she remained quiet. Several months later, Serene spoke out on a podcast and confirmed everyone’s suspicions. Now, Brandon is speaking out and sharing his side of the story. Keep reading to find out more.
Brandon Jones responds to cheating allegations
Bachelor in Paradise alum Brandon Jones responded to Serene Russell’s allegations that he cheated on her. In May, a video surfaced of him with another woman at a club in Austin, Texas. Right after this video, it was made public that they ended their relationship.
Now, Serene appeared on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s Off the Vine podcast and confirmed to the world that she believes Brandon did cheat on her. Since this podcast, Brandon released a statement sharing his side of the story.
According to Brandon, he needed a few days to process the information that was circulating. He believed he and Serene were on good terms. Now he knows there are issues that apparently need to be resolved.
Brandon’s Instagram stories shared his thoughts on the topic in which he defended his character. He said he needed a “beat to reflect and process my emotions surrounding this delicate matter that is intimate and personal to me.”
He continued by saying he wanted to clear the air and speak his truth. Brandon says he and Serene decided to end their engagement before he left for Texas. However, since their relationship was very public they wanted to hold off on announcing it until later. He takes full responsibility for having a conversation the day before he left where he mentioned maybe they could try long-distance dating.
Brandon said during this time of private separation the video got out. After talking to Serene about it privately she did believe he cheated and wanted the news out there. He also said that for the record he only shared a single dance with a woman which was harmless. According to him, nothing else happened.
He wants to move forward
Brandon said he wants to move forward peacefully. He has full respect for Serene and the time they shared together. He concluded by saying, “Thank you all for taking the time to read this. I appreciate you and am hopeful for a fresh start now that I’ve shared the story through my lens.”
