If you’re a fan of the talk show, you may have noticed that Whoopi was gone again as of Thursday, October 12. She was on the show as usual on Monday and Tuesday. But she was missing on Wednesday and still isn’t back.
Of course, all of The View hosts come and go, depending on their other obligations, vacations, and illnesses. Whoopi was recently absent due to being diagnosed with Covid. Fortunately, she made a full recovery and returned quickly.
Now, however, she’s out again, prompting someone to take over her role temporarily. What’s going on?
Who filled in for her on Thursday?
Viewers saw a familiar face on the talk show on Thursday, October 12. The Bachelorette star Rachel Lindsay filled in for Whoopi Goldberg. The rest of the usual The View hosts were present. So, Rachel chatted with Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Sunny Hostin. Note that Ana Navarro wasn’t there because she’s only on the show part-time.
Joy took over Whoopi’s usual role as moderator and Rachel sat in Joy’s seat. While introducing their guest host, Joy said, “And joining us as guest co-host is media personality and former Bachelorette, Rachel Lindsay.”
When is Whoopi Goldberg set to return to The View?
On Thursday’s episode, Whoopi’s co-host Joy Behar reassured fans that she won’t be gone much longer. Joy said, “Now, Whoopi will be back on Monday.”
During the show, Joy failed to reveal why Whoopi was absent. So, fans still don’t know where she is. But everyone can breathe a sigh of relief that she’ll be back in no time.
On Wednesday, Joy Behar teased that something big is going on behind the scenes for Whoopi Goldberg. She explained, “Welcome to The View. As you can see, Whoopi is off today. She’s off doing something really exciting. But I can’t tell you what it is.”
Joy added, “Because we want you to watch on Monday when she’ll tell you what it is. OK? But trust me, it’s a good one.”
