Whoopi Goldberg Missing From ‘The View’

With hosts like Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg helming The View, fans seemed confused on Wednesday’s show when the cast welcomed the audience without the comedian with them. Given her time on the show, fans quickly questioned the sudden disappearance of Goldberg and wanted to know what happened. Running through their normal routine, Behar decided to discuss why Goldberg was nowhere to be seen and clear the air before rumors circulated.

While each of the hosts took their seats, Joy Behar switched, taking over the normal placement of Whoopi Goldberg. Knowing the shift in seating would come with a mountain of questions, Behar quickly discussed the topic with viewers at home, noting that “Whoopi is off today.” While not giving too much away, she added, “She’s off doing something really exciting. But I can’t tell you what it is.”

‘Trust Me, It’s A Good One’

As if knowing how to draw in an audience, Behar’s comments on Whoopi Goldberg’s whereabouts sent fans wanting to know what was going on. In the past, Goldberg’s absences came with either an illness or a suspension. Not wanting rumors to get too out of hand, Joy Behar admitted the reason she was staying silent was “because we want you to watch on Monday when she’ll tell you what it is. Ok? But trust me, it’s a good one.”

With Whoopi Goldberg on a secret project for The View, fans wondered how long she would be gone from the show. Given that the announcement came on Wednesday and the reveal on Monday, will Goldberg be back to help host tomorrow or will she return next week? Those questions remain a mystery as to where exactly the Oscar winner went and what she could be doing.

Whoopi Goldberg’s Heated Past

Whatever the reason, Whoopi Goldberg doesn’t seem to be in any trouble. In the past, the comedian stirred controversy with her comments on Bill Cosby, The Academy Awards, and Ray Rice. Her most controversial moment came when she considered the Holocaust had little to do with “race”. Her comments about the tragedy led to a two-week suspension and an apology.

Just last month, at the start of a new season, fans noticed Whoopi Goldberg missing. Yet again, Joy Behar took control, revealing that the actress tested positive for COVID-19. At the time, Behar reassured viewers, “She’s on the mend, she’s on the tail end, and she’ll probably be back this week. But, sorry she not here, for those of you that were looking forward to seeing her.”
