‘RHOC’ Heather Dubrow Takes Big Steps With Trans Son, 12

When Heather Dubrow returned to the RHOC in Season 16, a lot had changed with her four children. Not only had they grown up but they had opened up about themselves. Her eldest daughter, Max revealed that she was proudly bisexual, something that Heather and her husband, Terry were very supportive of. Then, her other daughter, Katarina shared she was a lesbian which was quite fine with the Dubrows. This was just a part of who the children were and it did not change how Heather and Terry treated them by any means. Finally, it came out that their youngest child, Ace, was transgender.
Some questioned if Heather Dubrow was using Ace to stay relevant which she vehemently denied. “I saw [people commenting that] talking about my son was [a way] to remain relevant or to create a storyline on a show. Neither of these things are true. They are the farthest thing from the truth,” she explained. Now, Heather and her husband, Terry, have taken major steps for the sake of Ace. According to Radar, the couple has legally changed Ace’s name on his birth certificate. It started in November 2022 to legally change the gender.
Heather and Terry asked for a “decree recognizing the minor’s gender” changed to male as well as his name changed from Collette Kennedy Dubrow to Ace Dubrow. Since no one objected to this, in January of this year, a judge ordered a new birth certificate with the alterations made. Heather waited until all of this had been made official to publicly share that she had two sons. More so, she has been a proud mother through and through, always there to help her kids with whatever they need.
A Tough Season
Admittedly, Season 17 has been hard for Heather Dubrow. She has been accused of gossiping and being a bad friend but the footage says otherwise. Additionally, she has been called out for acting better than everyone else. However, it was this season that she and Terry sold their mansion for 55 million dollars. Yet, she opted not to share it with her cast mates as they were not in the best place. When they learned about it in the press, they went in on Heather. It will be interesting to see how she handles the ladies at the reunion.
