What religion did Barry and Kim Plath raise their family in? Welcome to Plathville fans are eager to learn more about the family’s roots and what other beliefs they may hold. Keep reading for all of the details about the religion the Plath kids were raised in.

One family member’s religious beliefs came up in the latest episode, which aired on Tuesday, September 12. This sparked some questions about what the whole family believes.

What Religion Did Barry & Kim Plath Raise The Family In?

The nine Plath kids were raised in Christian Fundamentalism, which includes religions like Protestant and Baptist. In general, Fundamentalists take the Bible literally. This could explain why the Plaths have held such strict beliefs, as shown in the first few seasons.

The Plaths still appear to be religious, but they don’t adhere to as many strict rules these days. Over the past five seasons, fans have witnessed the Plath kids and parents’ journeys.

While most or all of them seem to be religious to an extent, some family members seem to have taken a step back. For instance, Kim Plath was very religious when fans first met her. However, now, she’s divorced her husband, started drinking alcohol, and lives with her new boyfriend. This is the opposite of who she was in Season 1. But her divorce likely changed a lot of her beliefs.

This season, fans may find out more about where each of the Plath kids stands. Ethan’s wife, Olivia, claimed that she was raised similarly to the Duggars, who are a part of the IBLP (Institute in Basic Life Principles).

Lydia Plath is still very religious and spent some time on a mission trip over the summer. She’s also releasing more worship music this month.

Moriah Plath Takes A Big Step In Her Faith

As we reported, in last night’s episode, Moriah is in the process of a huge life change. The young woman admitted to her father that she’s been living life without God for a while now. And now, she’s realized she can’t do it alone. She wants to welcome Jesus back into her life by being baptized.

Upon hearing this, her father is thrilled. He says that he thinks this is a great idea and is fully supportive of this.
